This is the show to watch on a Friday night after a long week of work. Not only are a wide array of jobs showcased, but it’s so timing, even though it premiered in 1977 and revised throughout the years, with the last one in 2009. They even talked about the hard parts: getting laid off, retirement, trying to be better for you kids. These are conversations we are still having today.

If they did a revision to account for the past (nearly) 2 decades, here are some jobs I would add: the influencer, the multi-hyphenate, the person who worked with AI or lost their job to AI, the stay at home dad, the person who was trying to find a job, but can’t find a job because of how the job market is today, and the person who’s too overqualified for all the jobs they’re applying to. Feel free to add your own!

There’s so much that this work speaks to. It left me thinking so much about how we work in the conversations that need to be had about the way we work.

Shoutout to ART Station in Stone Mountain and to Kym for inviting me, and to the entire cast and crew for putting on an incredible performance!

NGL…this production has been WORK. And maybe that’s part of it’s beauty. Acting is WORK. Creating is WORK. Grateful for the opportunity to WORK…and more importantly grateful for WORKing alongside such talented and kind humans. Get yourself to @artstation.stonemountain next week or the week after. atlanta only wants me as a singing bug. and how beautiful is that?!!

eight months working on the library tour and the school tour of @discoverystageco’s the ugly butterfly! if you know me, you know that i care so so deeply about arts accessibility and steam programming. some of my favorite things from the tour:

- teachers’ faces lighting up when they hear their students making the connection that she’s a moth
- my full circle moment of working on @jrosaespinoza’s book, almost (nine??) years after becoming a teaching artist for dreambox
- listening to @kt_bergs composition. yall, this musical is banger after banger
- hearing the children gasp every time we opened the fan @runeprunes
