Day 4, the first night of the @beautymusical four-top, which @myriahbash, @jlabbottnyc, and @adriansarple assembled to absolute magical perfection! When @iamsusanegan appeared at the top of the stairs reading, just as in the original staging, I was transported and transfixed. And if you look in her eyes - she was transformed, too! I looked to the Suze I always see, and a 19 year old Belle looked back. And thus, suddenly I was 7 and experiencing all of this Disney magic for the first time again. And what a dream team the whole thing was! To have THREE Belles?!? The ever iconic 2005 dreamboat @ashleybrownyall, who stepped into the role when my freshman year of college began, when I was just beginning to be thrust into being a theater MD. Theater YouTube was just starting, and the BFA kids were OBSESSED! Radiant as ever. And the current Belle, the absolutely divine @kyrabellejohnson, who I’d just gotten to see sparkle to absolute perfection in the role in Philly! The perfect artist to carry on the legacy! Then Prince @ainsleymelham, fresh off his run in “Aladdin” and triple-threating up a storm, and Tony winning king @jmiglehart servicing the most DELICIOUS legit baritone vocals, and charming us all with that magical vibrato. A delicious quintet! But of course, the pièce de résistance was @jlabbottnyc’s trio arrangement of “Home” - the song that inspired me to play the piano - which used the colors of these three Belles voices to absolute perfection! I was a puddle on the floor. A truly wonderful celebration of the legacy of this perfect show! This was meant to be my last night in town, but a giant blizzard up north canceled my flights, and my friends at Disney Parks took care of me, so I *did* get to stay for closing night. So you know what that means…MORE SUPERFAN CONTENT IN MY NEXT POST! Dazzled by all of you!!!

Day 5, and closing night of #FestivalOfTheArts! The second night celebrating “Beauty and the Beast,” and it fills me with such pride to watch @iamsusanegan’s and the entire original production’s legacy be celebrated in such a heartfelt and delicious way by @disneyonbroadway. And to get to experience all of the Disney magic made by Suze, @ainsleymelham, @jmiglehart, @ashleybrownyall, and @kyrabellejohnson from the audience…it made my heart grow six sizes and filled me with a joy that’s still inspiring me now! Scroll to the end to watch all of @jlabbottnyc’s beautiful “Home” trio in three parts. HUGE congratulations to the whole DTG team, and especially @myriahbash and @adriansarple. This was SO tasteful and so special, and I feel really honored that I got to sit with you at the last show and experience it through your eyes! BIG LOVE TO ALL INVOLVED! (And thank you @bylinelinda for helping me stay here safely during the blizzard, and for the hilarious footage of me and Suze reading!)

Also, just to say…reading with @iamsusanegan during “Belle,” for the 7 year old in me who saw her on Broadway and wanted to play piano for Belle so they could be friends…truly surreal. The child inside me will forever be over the moon for all the moments we get together, but this one being so literal? THAT was full-out Disney magic. A proper Disney World magic moment. I’ll never be over it! 🥹
