‘My Hair Is My Superpower’ by Alycea Adams🥹📚🎀👑⭐️

I wrote the book I needed at 8-years old — reading it brings me back to memories of being frustrated because my curls didn’t “behave”, didn’t look like what I saw on TV, and didn’t match what society said was “beautiful”…

Now, I embrace my natural hair no matter the occasion because it’s a part of who I am. I don’t hide my curls anymore, and I hope this reaches a little girl who hasn’t learned yet that her curls are her crown!👸🏽

Thank you to my village for a beautiful community book swap back in my college town of Chapel Hill, NC. Your support means everything. My book is ready to share with your village — find it in my bio💗

🖤💛🎓 Let’s celebrate the brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. from around the world who just graduated!

We at Watch The Yard have received thousands of submissions from graduates who want to share their photos with the world, so we carefully curated a list of some of our favorite Alpha graduation pictures from the Spring 2026 graduating class.

Watch The Yard’s mission is to document and promote Black college culture, archiving the rich and powerful legacy of Black college students past and present. This list is a look at how brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha are celebrating themselves and their academic achievements around the world in 2026.

As you scroll, take note of the pride and honor these graduates carry, and the creativity and attention to detail of their photographers. Every cap, every cord, every shade of black and old gold tells the story of a finish line crossed.

Show these graduates some love and celebrate them with us.

We would like to congratulate Bro. Ashton Hutchinson (2-MZ-SPR24) on receiving the John Akin Catalyst Award and Bro. Kyran Taylor (5-MZ-SPR26) on receiving the John Stewart Trailblazer Award. Both brothers were recognized by the Shuford Program in Entrepreneurship for the impact they have made through leadership, innovation, and service to the Carolina community.

Their continued dedication to creating opportunities, uplifting others, and leaving a lasting impact reflects the standard of excellence of the Mighty Mu Zeta Chapter. The 447th House never stops producing excellence. 🖤💛
