You never expect a routine trip to become the moment everything changes... until it does.

What began as a trip to an HBCU all-star event has left Amina Seck in ICE detention since August 7. The 26-year-old @kystateu athlete from Senegal is now eligible for a bond hearing… weeks after missing essential knee surgery and having a separate medical emergency.

Beyond basketball, Amina’s story asks us to think about due process, accountability and what protections people should still be able to count on while their immigration cases hang in the balance.

#LetsDiscuss How long is too long for someone’s life to be left in limbo? 🖤

this is Amina Seck she was detained by ICE August 7th at the airport when she was traveling with her team. it’s been a whole month now, she has been moved to 4 different facilities and she also has an ACL injury that needs medication attention. She has only been receiving ibuprofen for her pain….something needs to be done to help Amina Seck.

Kentucky State WBB player Amina Seck was arrested by ICE at Louisville's airport while traveling with her team in August. Arriving legally from Dakar, Senegal in 2021 and a transfer from Langston University, she is currently recovering from ACL surgery. Her lawyer stated she has not been receiving consistent care after being transferred through 4 separate detention centers. Seck was named third-team All-SIAC last season after averaging 11.7 PPG and 7.3 RPG. This situation needs more attention! #AminaSeck #KYSU
