A meditative oasis in Bridgehampton, NY

For Rent: 78 Windmill Lane, a Bridgehampton barn designed by @thelpcreative and Jack Ceglic (@jackceglic), the artist and Dean & DeLuca founder whose black-and-white minimalism gave the 1977 SoHo original its look.

Built in 2008, it is one of four houses Ceglic set on a former landscape nursery, each wrapped in graphite standing-seam steel that borrows the language of the East End's farm sheds. Inside, the vocabulary flips to a stark white gallery: 20-foot glass walls, radiant-heated polished concrete floors, and rooms hung like a private collection, with driftwood sconces, a carved-stone trough sink, and a ficus rising two stories toward the light.

The furniture reads like the walls. Linen sectionals, a sculptural wood chaise, and midcentury shearling sit against an unbroken tree line. Three bedrooms across 3,660 square feet on 2.2 acres, with a lap pool and a walled garden. Available for the season, August at $65,000 or through Labor Day at $70,000.

Un oasis de méditation dans les Hamptons.

À Bridgehampton, @kyukahouse est une maison contemporaine imaginée comme un refuge apaisant.

Derrière sa façade de bois sombre, on découvre des volumes spectaculaires. Trois chambres aux plafonds de six mètres de haut, baignées de lumière naturelle et une atmosphère épurée, pensée pour le calme et la contemplation.

À l’extérieur, une piscine d’eau salée s’étend face au jardin, bordée d’herbes hautes et de chênes.

Un lieu à vivre lentement, entre design, nature et silence.

The great room @kyukahouse is filled with light. The lush verdant surroundings pour in through the floor to ceiling windows. To anchor the space and bring the outside in, we procured an Audrey Ficus tree and planted her in a reclaimed stone vessel. She connects the divided living spaces and I love her very much. I remember the call with Paul @designagencymanagement like it was yesterday. I had just connected with @alexandrafitz and andy about the potential of working together. I knew the moment we hung up this one would be different. I believe I even said to Paul “this could change everything.”

The synergy was electric. The way we ping ponged ideas off one another, constantly pushing each other further. I had never worked in this capacity with clients before - it was clear from the start these were not your typical clients. As I reflect on the process of designing what is now @kyukahouse , I’m overcome with emotion. I feel so much love for this project and am so thrilled to finally get to share it.

We learned this story would be published over two years ago and we were happy to wait because …. It’s the New York Times! And now, having returned back home after 10 years in LA, nothing could cement my return more. Today I feel like a very cool New Yorker.

Andy, thank you for this incredible opportunity. Thank you for not just trusting me and the entire @thelpcreative team to work on such special project, but for trusting me to share space in your mind. Collaborating with you and geeking out over old things together will always be the fondest memories that I forever cherish.
