We are excited to announce a residency with @recessart next year. Through this residency, we will be presenting Electronic Cafe for Poetic Computation, a project that will be open to the public from June 17 to August 19, 2023 at RECESS, in Brooklyn, NY. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Electronic Cafe for Poetic Computation will transform Recess into an internet cafe and cyber hub that engages our community of teachers and learners with workshops and curriculum building. Harkening back to a time before the internet was enclosed by big tech monopolies and disciplined by surveillance regimes, the project reopens a portal for visioning about the future of networked society. ⁣⁣This project takes inspiration from Kit Galloway and Sherrie Rabinowitz’ Electronic Cafe Network - a description of that project is on slide 3.
⁣⁣
ABOUT RECESS: Recess partners with artists to build a more just and equitable creative community. By welcoming radical thinkers to imagine and shape networks of resilience and safety, RECESS defines and advances the possibilities of contemporary art. ⁣⁣
