As garotas do L7 se preparam para iniciar a sua turnê de despedida, intitulada “The Last Hurrah”. O primeiro show dessa última etapa está marcado para esta terça-feira (06), em San Diego, Califórnia. A banda aproveitou a ocasião para lançar a faixa inédita “Loma Linda”, que foi encontrada nos arquivos. A canção conta com a baixista Janis Tanaka, que integrou o L7 entre 1999 e 2001, e que está de volta após a morte de Jennifer Finch. “Este novo single marca o retorno de Janis Tanaka ao baixo do L7, após a triste perda de Jennifer Finch alguns meses atrás”, comentou a vocalista e guitarrista Donita Sparks. Ele continuou: “Eu estava pesquisando nos arquivos da banda e encontrei essa faixa inacabada de quando a Janis fazia parte do grupo. Ela ainda soava atual e com a cara do L7; então, gravamos novos vocais com uma nova letra e alguns elementos adicionais, finalizando tudo em poucos dias antes desta turnê. Tenho que avisar: nós adoramos a música e esperamos que vocês também gostem”. #l7 #ligadoamusica

💚💚💚L7 - Fast and Frightening [Bass Only]💚💚💚 *Full version w/ guitar 2nd pin on my reels 📌 This is for you Jennifer. I don't even know where to begin when it comes to talking about Jennifer Finch and L7. I was 14-15 years old when I started as a performing musician in the underground scene and I went down a rabbit hole of women pioneers who influenced the Rock/ Metal/ Punk/ Grunge/ Alternative music scene. I had heard many things about L7, I knew the logo and I saw it on t-shirts and I had a friend who hung out with the L7 gang in LA during the early 90s who showed me photographs of the band. Those were my first exposures to them and I just decided to do my own research and bought books that taught me about the Underground scenes in the US and the UK, then the Riot Grrrl movement [which obviously influenced my name here]. There is this one book I still cling on to and it was like my Bible, it's called "Cinderella's Big Score". Y'all can give that a search... But I learned a lot through that book. Moving onwards, more than two decades later I had an interaction with Jennifer here on the Gram. She was one of the first few artists that I've looked up to since I was a teen, who actually interacted with me and showed love and support. Like how awesome is that! She really liked my guitar cover of "One More Thing" in 2024. It means everything to me. She is sooo humble. The definition of cool. I thank her and L7 for how much they have influenced me and the many of us. I can't even put a genre on them because their music is simply theirs. It's their energy, their sound. It's all them. And I've said that before. Friggin' genius if you ask me. When you have created/ invented something that is quintessentially yours, I am left stunned. Not many like that out there [anymore]. We know who they are. That's what makes the greats, the greatest. Deepest respect and I will always treasure the history of all the artists who have impacted me as a musician.
