.
First international experience at a high level of competition🇴🇲🏃🏻‍♀️
Competing alongside athletes from Kenya, Ethiopia, and Europe while adapting to the challenging heat and humidity, was a valuable experience for me
Not the result I was looking for but definitely a race that taught me a lot and made me stronger

One race One experience One step closer⁩⁩

A woman in her 40s starts gaining weight, her body becomes harder to change, and suddenly she thinks:

“I have a slow metabolism.”

Well… not exactly.

After 40, hormones, muscle mass, fat distribution, insulin sensitivity and energy metabolism can all change.

But your metabolism doesn’t simply break.

🎾 And that’s why I’ve become so interested in TENNIS.

Tennis isn’t just cardio.

⚡ Short sprints, rapid changes of direction, explosive movements, hitting and recovery — repeated again and again.

One point → high intensity.
Pause → recovery.
Next point → high intensity again.

Your body constantly switches between different energy systems.

🧠 For women over 40, this kind of varied physical demand can be a great addition to a well-rounded training routine.

Research increasingly shows that metabolic health isn’t about simply doing more cardio.

🏋🏻‍♀️ Resistance training helps preserve muscle.

🎾 Higher-intensity activity supports fitness and metabolic health.

🚶🏻‍♀️ Daily movement matters too.

😴 And recovery allows your body to adapt.

Tennis won’t magically “boost your metabolism”.

But it can give your body a completely different stimulus than cardio or strength training alone.

And if you’ve been training your whole life, don’t compare your 40-year-old body to someone who has never trained consistently.

Your body has a different history, different muscle mass and different adaptations.

So maybe the answer isn’t “eat less and do more cardio.”

After 40, I don’t think the goal is to do MORE.
The goal is to do it SMARTER.
