Sixty years ago tonight, “The Man Trap” aired and nobody knew what they’d started.

Shot this on the lawn at the Autry — a few thousand people watching the 1966 premiere under the actual sky, then a first look at Strange New Worlds. Free, outdoors, in Griffith Park. Space for everybody, apparently including us.

Sept 8, 1966 → Sept 8, 2026. 🖖

#StarTrekDay Part 2. Tonight we attended a screening under the stars of the first episode of Star Trek that aired 60 years ago today, followed by an early screening of this week’s episode of Strange New Worlds. It was an epic night of celebrating all things #StarTrek and making lots of new friends. Thanks to @remediavideo for coming with me.

STLV 2026 has come and gone and my whole love for the experience stems from being together with community, friends and found family.

The last time I posted on IG was at STLV last year and I’m still very much on a social media hiatus. So this post will be it until the desire to be online hits again. But I can’t ignore sharing this love for my people via this 60 year old franchise we all love.

I’m so content from the experiences we all shared this year. I especially loved welcoming @team_karim to the Star Trek family when I gave him this year’s paper doll of his character, Jay’den, that I created for the craft swap. His joy and welcoming spirit was as beautiful as him. Thank you!

Also shoutout to @thetoyboyzpodcast member, @choirgeekchic, for helming “Trekapella” which became a huge highlight of the week for me. I loved laughing, singing and performing with the group.

And to everyone pictured (and not because how do you fit all that love into 20 slides)?

“I have been – and always shall be – your friend.”

Thank you bestie, @theshytrekkie for the fabulous photographs. Most of these shots are hers.

We ended STLV with a good ole fashion “KHAAAAAANNNN!” Thank you all for an amazing week celebrating Star Trek 60 and our 10th Anniversary. We were so touched by all the hugs, high fives and welcome backs throughout the week. We are looking forward to continuing the celebration for the rest of the year with you! Stay tuned, a lot more fun coming soon!
