I am doing the medicine making classes a little different this year. Instead of a cohort, each class will be its own workshop and they will be on a rotation schedule throughout the fall and winter months.
We’ll be kicking off with a fire cider workshop. Fire cider is a staple in kitchen medicine. It is a wellness tonic that can be used to boost immunity, speed up the duration of cold/flu, warm the body & aid in digestion.

We will go over the tools needed to craft fire cider at home & a variety of herbs, roots & fruits/veggies that can be used to make your fire cider custom to your household and specific to your needs.

DM/text to join. See you there 🫶🏽

*𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫*
I was having lunch with a friend last week after not having seen eachother for years. Of course we got off on the conversation just as we did the first time we ever got lunch, by getting right to the deep stuff. Skipping the small talk and casualties.
What was said has been sitting with me for days now. Tugging on my spirit.
We got on the topic of loss and grief, shared some personal experiences and talked about how nice it would be if there was a place or a village for us to be held throughout our grief. How different we, as women, would be able to show up if we had the proper support, the proper ceremonies, the proper witnessing throughout major life changes. And all of this made me think about (something that I often think about) what Clarissa Pinkola says in Women Who Run With the Wolves. She says: because we are no longer connected to the village, we have lost our ability to honor the life-death-life cycle. She says how crucial it is for women to witness this cycle over and over again so that, one, we might be able to discern when it is happening in our own lives but also because it is simply our nature. (This is probably really bad paraphrasing but this is what I got from it)
When we move with the seasons and flow in a natural cycle…grief, love, beginning and endings become so much easier to contend with.
We have lost the village and with it we have lost its teachings.

Anyway…I left that conversation inspired to say the least. 🔮

Hello & welcome to Guerrera Hoodoo. I’m Paige & I am going to be turning things up a notch here so I figured a formal introduction is appropriate. If you are here, you likely can tell who I am from the perspective of what I post and share so instead of getting into that here are 10 random facts about me :)

1. Outside of spiritual work, plants etc…I love to draw, paint & write. I got a scholarship to University of the arts in Philly way back when. (I didn’t go though) I was also asked to be a writing tutor for all levels after my college entry essay (I didn’t go to that school either)
2. I have three kids. Two boys, one girl. My girl & I share the same birthday
3. I was born with two extra fingers but they tied a string around them after I was born and they fell off lol
4. I have a serious passion for human anatomy and geek out on all things about the body
5. My least favorite color is pink. You’ll never catch me wearing it (except that one birthday a few years ago)
6. I have an unreasonable fear of heights which I only discovered when I attempted to take my kid down that huge slide at a trampoline park..couldn’t do it and there was no turning back…had to be pushed by a toddler
7. I am the middle child of three girls & we’re best friends
8. I’m an Aquarius sun, Sagittarius moon & rising
9. I’ve been married once & im *almost* divorced. Learned a lot, would recommend not getting married until after your Saturn return
10. I love seafood. I should be pescatarian & I make my “emotional support” salmon once a week
Bonus fact: before becoming an herbalist, espiritista etc I was a makeup artist for many years

There is a lot coming for Guerrera Hoodoo & I am happy to have you here. Thank you for your continued support 🫶🏽

Coming together in prayer + ritual will always be my favorite way to hold space.
It was an honor to watch everyone learn to trust themselves, listen to their intuition, channel their inner bruja & connect with plants to craft their own original Florida Water today.
My heart is filled.
& I am forever humbled by the power of community.

Our dead are not dead. They are in “the wood that groans”, they are in the leaves that blow in the wind, they are in the rain, in the soil, in the footsteps that we take toward open roads, in our hands that tend to the garden, and in the first cry of a newborn baby.
Honored to have sat in community today discussing the importance of ancestor reverence and the process of tending to an altar honoring our dead, muertos, egun. It is because of my ancestors that I am all that I am and all that I ever will be. It is through them that all of my dreams have been made into reality. I love what I do and I will not ever stop doing it, God first 🤍

What a blessing it is to be able to share such a sacred aspect of my practice with my community. Today espiritistas, root workers & medicine women were reawakened to their ability to bring heaven and earth together to achieve a specific outcome through the ritual of spiritual bath making. I am honored to have been a teacher & a guide and to have witnessed so many ancestors and spiritual guides in the room with us, working through us. God, spirit, community & connection. 🤍 gracias à la misericordia!!

Starting the morning off with gratitude for my new oracle deck made by @blackmadonnajuju, Mothers Tongue oracle has already came through with divine messages…. Blessing my Babalu Aye altar with a custom made rosary by @la.guerrera21 and burning my custom made incense for Babalu Aye. I created a blend that feels like Sunshine ☀️. Cinnamon, Cerrase, Cardamon and coconut blends. One thing I know about his spirit is that, where the body aches, he brings knowledge.
Where the spirit weakens, he brings resilience.
Where the world turns away, he stays.

Today we honor Babalu Ayé …..I am
asking for protection over our bodies,
clarity in our healing journeys,
and mercy where pain once lived.

May what is hidden be healed.
May what is heavy be lifted.
May what is broken be restored.

Asé.
