Angel Ennis creates designs rooted in storytelling, resilience, and transformation. Inspired by Eclipse, her pieces speak to the experiences of Black communities on campus and the resilience required to thrive despite systemic challenges. It reflects the journey of pushing through adversity and emerging stronger and bolder. Even through darkness, light finds a way to shine; because without balance, nothing grows. Our presence remains essential in every space we enter.

Introducing our second publications member!

Publications(Social Media): La’Tyra Smith(@la.tyraaa)

Why did I join BGSS?: “I joined black girls in social science because there is no other like it on campus, I felt like this was my community. With me being a black girl pursuing psychology, there isn’t many like us being represented so with this group I want to further show MSU what BGSS has to offer. Having a space dedicated to us and me being apart of that is gonna showcase all talent that us black Women can bring on social science!“

Can I just start off by saying I'm so greatful for this family I was born into ❤ Lots and LOTS to celebrate! 2 prom send offs, 2 graduations, at LEAST 3 birthdays, dance recital AND a graduation party! (WE HAD A TIME LAST NIGHT!) This trip has truly shown me how powerful we are as a UNIT! I was told that my cousins look up to me, but in all honesty they have inspired me and fueled the fire within my spirit. NOTHING BUT SUCCESS AND BLACK EXCELLENCE! This family holds FIRST and SECOND generation college students, business owners, Directors, officers, super heros (IYKYK) and many more! Not to mention the future generation! They already started talking about being soldiers, dancers and Doctors. I am truly blessed. THIS family instilled a standard of what a support system looks like 💯 Not to mention the community that came to celebrate with us! I love you all! I tried to capture as much as I could but time flies when you're having fun 😂 Just know when December comes, IT'S UP!

FYI we reaaally like dancing 😂
