Thanks to @razorcake_zine for their amazing reviews of our last two records! CHUBBY & THE TWERKS: One Second with Chubby & The Twerks: 7” A collaboration between Milan’s The Twerks and London’s Charlie Manning Walker, this delightful, rockin’ two-song offering defies easy categorization. To me it sounds like when the early U.K. punk bands realized there could be more than just four chords and a snarl and we got stuff such as when Stiff Little Fingers or The Stranglers came into their own as musicians—there’s a grittiness to it, but the melodies are sophisticated and soulful. Walker’s vocals are gruff and vaguely aggressive like a biker growling pop songs at karaoke with a pile of tequila in him. Such vocals at first seemed a bit counterintuitive to the musical stylings, but damn my eyes if it doesn’t work wonderfully! I really enjoyed this record. I wish there were more to it, and I would really, really love to hear a full-length in the future. –The Lord Kveldulfr SPECTRE: Twisted Views: 12” EP Solid Italian deathrock here. The opener is a noise/soundscape intro-type thingie, followed by three quasi-tribal rhythmed tunes and one with a more driving “punk” feel to it, all of it awash in reverb-drenched vocals and flanger-soaked guitars. The obligatory comparison my noggin is coming up with is “early Virgin Prunes as interpreted by Criminal Code,” albeit with less of the former’s more danceable qualities and less of the latter’s hardcore muscle. Short, succinct, and stark is the path chosen here, making a solid mark and leaving the listener wanting more. –Jimmy Alvarado

And so we’ve reached seven. Seven records in just over a year and a half—an achievement that, given the resources at my disposal (time, money, hands-on experience), strikes me as quite an accomplishment. The two new releases are doing well; now come the reviews, the concerts, hopefully some interviews and in-depth features, and higher sales—which never hurt. Venti3 continues to be my personal vision of punk, nothing more than that. I’ve been fortunate to have met, over these 18 months, bands that share this vision, placing their trust in me to release their albums. This is the right path—often a difficult one—and it’s also the only one I’ve known since I was a kid. I had further proof of this just two nights ago: yesterday in Milan, at the PAC, an exhibition by an Australian artist (of clear Italian origins), Marco Fusinato, opened. A wall of noise accompanied by bursts of highly evocative images. What does that have to do with it, you might ask? Nothing, in musical terms, not with Venti3 at least. But then, go read the small catalog accompanying “The Only True Anarchy is That of Power”—that’s the title—and you’ll read that the artist “is no stranger to the influence of the Milanese anarcho-punk scene of the 1980s, particularly Wretched” (one of my great youthful loves, and not just that). In short, we were right back then, and I’m sure we’re right today as well. So long live Venti3, long live @_s.p.e.c.t.r.e__, @the_twerks_punkband, @chowregaz, @20minutes_band and what’s to come. The next one, coming out in September, will be a huge surprise for many—I promise. Now, buy the records, follow the bands, and go support them when they play in your area. The next concert is in a few days; we’ll talk about it in detail tomorrow, but today was the perfect time to celebrate the two new releases… Available on Bandcamp and thru are allies: @flamingorecordstore, @hellnation_record_store and, overseas, @greennoiserecords.

Tomorrow is the big day!!! The first of our two new releases will be available for purchase, but since we can’t wait any longer, we’ve decided to let you hear both tracks starting today. @the_twerks_punkband , currently busy composing another album set for release later on, are treating us to a 7” featuring two unreleased tracks and a surprise guest, Charlie Manning Walker aka Chubby, best known for his projects across the Channel: @chubbyandthegang, where he was the leader, and @thechiseluk, where he plays guitar. The idea for a possible collaboration came about almost as a joke during the first @punkadeka_it festival, where The Chisel were guests. Through phone chats, further meetings, exchanging ideas, and long messages, we have finally reached the decision to release two previously unreleased tracks by the English musician on vinyl, completely rearranged by The Twerks. The result is “One Second with… Chubby & The Twerks,” which features two short bursts of raw punk rock, enriched by Charlie’s raspy vocals and melodies that will stick in your head after just one listen. Listen to both of them on our bandcamp and then buy the single!!! Link in bio.

Yesterday I announced two new releases from Venti3, which you can find in a post below, and I can only recommend that you visit the Bandcamp page and listen to the samples (and maybe buy the records, if you like them). However, I strongly believe that the best thing is to go and see the bands live and experience the quality of their repertoire for yourself. As far as I'm concerned, concerts are one of the moments when I'm happiest that I started the label because they give me the opportunity to meet new people, exchange opinions, and, almost always, gather positive feedback and comments. The credit, of course, goes almost entirely to the bands: if they weren't good and didn't believe in what they do, I would hardly have embarked on this recording adventure. Every day, on various social media platforms, I read about concerts, events, and venues, just to stay within the punk scene, but I find it extremely difficult to find additional dates—other than those that the bands arrange themselves—to spread the word. So I'm asking you for a favor, also because after almost two years, I think it's time to take a leap forward. Could you let me know about places, promoters, venues, events, weddings, and private parties where I could promote Venti3? Unfortunately, it's not my job, so my knowledge is rather limited. If you want to support the label, in addition to buying the records, you can easily send me your experience about it, give me a hand in setting up events like the one on Saturday, March 7, in a few days, when Venti3 will be a guest of the @caseificio.la.rosa in Poviglio. This time, @the_twerks_punkband and @chowregaz will be performing. The former have just released a new seven-inch record, which will be available soon, while the latter... I can't say anything yet, but get ready for some news in the near future. That's all for now, but if you can help me by sending me contacts and opportunities, I will be infinitely grateful. See you on Saturday, at the usual stand. Reasonable prices, friendliness, beautiful records, T-shirts, and even hugs if you want, because we really need them these days.
