It was a HOT day, but Junior League of Pasadena volunteers showed up ready to help at LA Dysautonomia Network's housewarming fundraiser and celebration! They scanned tickets, served drinks, sold LADN merch, and cleaned up after the event. Thanks to their support, the launch of LADN's new space in the Playhouse District was a success!

Thank you every single human who has graciously donated to my Go Fund Me especially in a time when it is difficult to thrive financially.

It will be some unknown amount of time before I can go back to the career I had as an actress and/or find some other form of income that will allow me to work from home 2-3hrs at a time.

I will continue to share my GoFund until I get out of this mess or by the justice of a fair God receive enough 🤲🏼✨️🙏🏼

Can’t believe I got to be part of a real life ribbon cutting ceremony complete with government officials and certificates and giant novelty scissors!!

The past couple of weeks working with @la_dysnetwork has been so incredible. See how much @sallyv_kw and @emily_the_painter care about this group firsthand has been a privilege. There are now almost 1000 people who rely on LADN for support which is INCREDIBLE. I am so excited for the weeks to come when the new office starts to feel like home!

💬 It’s Dysautonomia Awareness Month—and this one is deeply personal.

A few years ago, I started @begonepots because I didn’t know anyone personally with dysautonomia, and I had no idea where to even begin finding a community.

I spent months terrified and confused by what was happening to my body—sudden heart rate spikes over 200 bpm, severe chest tightness, lightheadedness, feeling faint while eating, multiple ER visits, and still no clear explanation. I would not wish that fear or uncertainty on my worst enemy.

I remember praying and promising God that if He helped me get through it, get answers, and start feeling better, I would do everything I could to help other people through it too.

That became the reason for this page.

My goal was simple: if I could help even one person feel less alone than I did, find answers a little faster, or feel understood while trying to make sense of their body, then creating this page would be worth it.

Never in my life did I think I would have dysautonomia. But I also never imagined this page would become a community of people sharing experiences, supporting one another, learning together, and helping each other get through some of the hardest days.

That means more to me than I can explain. 🤍

As an occupational therapist, I rarely see dysautonomia show up on its own.

Some diagnoses I commonly see alongside it is: MCAS, EDS/HSD, chronic pain, CRPS, Long Covid, chronic fatigue/PEM, and neurodivergence (ie: ADHD, autism), and +.

I teach Mindful Movement classes to support dysautonomia — while these classes can also help support these other conditions in your movement practice!

It’s not about doing all the things.

It’s about learning what your body needs to transition into the day — slowly and intentionally, to reduce crashing before noon.

How we move (or don’t move) in those first moments can set the tone for everything that follows!

And it starts with honoring where your body is right now — whether that’s feeling more symptomatic in the morning, finding your footing by afternoon, or somewhere in between.

Mindful Movement is a first step in learning how to honor exactly where you’re at. 🤍

Monday was supposed to be cardio day.
I love having a plan! Structure keeps me grounded, consistent, accountable.

Nothing wrong with that.

But even the most routine-oriented person has moments where the plan just doesn’t fit — and the wisest thing you can do is notice that and adjust.

When you’re living with dysautonomia, that moment comes more often. Your nervous system doesn’t always follow the schedule. What felt manageable yesterday might not be today — and that’s not a character flaw. That’s just the reality of a body that needs more listening.

My body said stillness. I listened. I pivoted to a yin yoga practice instead.

Knowing when to stick to the plan and when to release it — that’s not inconsistency. That’s self-awareness. And for those living with dysautonomia, that skill is part of how you can heal. 🤍

Here’s to both. 🤗
