Had the honor of sitting down with Kalapana legend Kirk Thompson (one of the four original members).

This short documentary dives deep into Kalapana’s powerful legacy and cultural influence, telling stories that shaped the sound of Hawaii. From its iconic musical voices to the unshakable spirit of its people — painting a powerful portrait of a place that continues to inspire across generations.

Franskiiz and Lelz bring the past into the present, blending traditional roots with fresh rhythms, honoring the kupuna while pushing boundaries.
Their latest music draws from the soul of Kalapana, fusing traditional sounds, generational melodies, and modern beats into something entirely their own - honoring the past while pushing the culture forward.
Big MAHALO to Uncle Kirk for letting us talk story🤙

Also “What Would I Do (A Kalapana Tribute)” will be available soon on vinyl w/ Aloha Got Soul🤞
