He is back♥️🙏🏻
Huckleberry Finn did amazing last night. He was drinking, eating and going potty as needed. He is to continue taking trazodone to keep him sedated for the first 3 days. His activity level needs to be restricted for 2 weeks. He also is on a number of additional medications.
Thank you all so much for your continued love and support. We have had friends offer to visit, pay for a hotel night, send meals and so much more. I am overwhelmed with so much love.
I am happy to report that Huckleberry’s bill came to $6342.90. The GoFundMe has raised $4481 & Venmo donations are at $386. Totaling $4867. Amazing! I have had a few people ask me to leave the GoFundMe open for a few more days. Also, friends have asked what my Venmo is it is @Sharleen-belke.
If our friends could share just one more time to help us on this last bit we will be forever grateful.
Your continued prayers, well wishes, love and healing energy is always appreciated 🙏🏻♥️🙌🏻
Thank you from our entire family.

Huckleberry Finn is out of surgery and waking up. They ended up not calling during the scope and proceeded with the BVEAP. While under anesthesia, his UGI scope looked good, no evidence of inflammation was seen. He did take 2 biopsies of his stomach and intestine- results will come in next week for those. They also confirmed there is no evidence of megaesophagus. Huckleberry was injected with a medication that made him breathe heavily. This gave Dr Sadanaga a more accurate examination of the level of paralysis. He was 100% paralyzed on the left side and 75% on the right. Dr Sadanaga felt very confident that we intervened at the right time before he ended up in a breathing crisis. I am so grateful we were able to make this surgery happen for Huckleberry.
He is in the ICU receiving IV fluids and medication. They said no news is good news. So I am praying he transitions well to water, food & oral medication. I am to call at 11 am tomorrow so they can take the time between now and then to observe his recovery and hopefully discharge him. One thing everyone comments on is how young Huckleberry looks and acts. Dr Sadanaga said he is in great shape for a 10 1/2 yr old newf. He remarked multiple times on how healthy & energetic he is. Today he told me the staff all around cannot believe he is over 10 years old. That makes my heart smile.
Before Huckleberry went in today we were up early getting some snuggles and time together in- I took these photos and video of him... he knew I was worried, his demeanor was calm and loving. The moment I knew he understood though was when the nurse was ready to take him in. Usually whenever I say bye to him he is always so happy to go explore his new adventure that he just walks away without a care. Today, I said I wanted to give him one more kiss... I gave him a hug and a kiss and told him he can't leave me yet. He stood there looking at me and gave me kisses back. He knew I needed that so much.
I have been a mess these past few days. Thank you all for your love and support. This community continues to amaze Alex and I. We are forever grateful. The GoFundMe and Venmo have raised $4697. That will absolutely help. Thank you all. ♥️
