I honestly can’t express the amount of joy and gratitude I felt from this show. Getting to choreograph and dance beside my girl @ceciliaapplebaum_ for such a beautiful artist meant so much to me. @rafimusicx you are so inspiring, and your voice is truly unforgettable. Thank you for sharing something so special with us.
With such moving music and an incredible group of dancers, this whole process was so meaningful. @leahbrighter @jazzmaas_8 @lace__harrison @giadalyn_marshall @emmae_828 @addison.prichard each and every one of you worked so hard, and we couldn’t be more proud of how beautifully you brought our choreography to life on stage. I love you all so much! 🫶🏻✨

Lace Harrison

Q-How long have you been dancing?
A- 15 years, all at SSSOD!

Q-What is your favourite style of dance & why?
A- Ballet holds a special place in my heart, though I love all other styles. The structure of technique it provides while also being free to express and perform in an elegant way makes my love for dance stronger. Going to ballet class never fails to make me feel better on a bad day and brings out the little ballerina in me.

Q-A fond memory from your time at SSSOD:
A-My favourites are always from our performances. Watching my friends dance, the moments backstage before we go on and being onstage all together are the most memorable.

Q-What advice would you give to younger dancers?
A- My advice to younger dancers is to never lose the fun in dancing. There may be bumps along the road, don’t take it too seriously, things happen! Always remember why you dance and why you love it.

Q-Is there anyone who has been a part of your dance journey that you would like to thank?
A-My parents. My Mom for continuously supporting me from day one. She never let me give up on my dreams to peruse dance and has helped me become the confident dancer I am, while fostering my healthy relationship with the art. And my Dad, for supporting me in every way he knows possible, always encouraging me, going full dance dad (especially this winter in Chicago) and for the slogan I live by “We live to dance, We dance to live”.

Lace will be attending the Professional Program at the School of Contemporary Dancers - and working towards a dance degree through the University of Winnipeg. You can catch Lace this summer and fall performing as a cheerleader for the CFL’s Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Lace, your years of dedication, hard work, and passion for dance have not only helped developed you as dancer, but also forged lasting friendships. From all of us at SSSOD, we couldn’t be prouder of your accomplishments and the artist you’ve become. As you head into this next chapter, know that your second family will be cheering you on, and can’t wait to see where your talent takes you!
