👉There’s something about a good military-style field watch that just works. No unnecessary complications, no fuss, just a clean, legible dial and a design that feels purposeful.

The @marloewatchco Aerodyne takes that familiar military field watch aesthetic and adds a healthy dose of aviation inspiration. The crisp white dial, bold outlined numerals, orange accents and brushed case give it a distinctive look, while the overall design pays tribute to the pioneering pilots and aircraft of the past.

For this shoot, I wanted to capture that sense of adventure and history. Old books, vintage maps, weathered textures and a few carefully chosen props helped create the atmosphere. I particularly love the engraved caseback featuring the Aerodyne Mk.I aircraft, so naturally that deserved a shot of its own.

It’s a watch that really lends itself to storytelling through photography, and I had a lot of fun putting this set together. Sometimes the setting is just as important as the watch itself.

: PAM x MWC | An Afternoon with @panerai

The Melbourne Watch Collective was privileged to closely coordinate an exclusive experience with Panerai Melbourne, bringing together an Entourage of Eight watch enthusiasts for an afternoon celebrating fine watchmaking, the Panerai story and our shared passion for horology.

The day began at the boutique, where each guest received a Panerai wear watch, before heading to @themeatandwineco Chadstone for a relaxed lunch, great conversation and a little friendly competition with a Panerai-themed crossword over dessert and coffee.

We then returned to the boutique for a private, closed-door experience exclusively for MWC, featuring a hands-on introduction to Panerai watchmaking and the craftsmanship behind these iconic timepieces.

A particular highlight was being among the first to explore Panerai’s latest Luminor 42mm releases up close:

A brilliant day of fine watchmaking, great food, and the MWC community.

We kicked off Friday afternoon with lunch at Meat & Wine Co. Chadstone before moving to the Panerai boutique for a highly anticipated private session.

The highlight? Rolling up our sleeves for a Panerai watchmaking class, examining movements up close under the loupe, and some friendly competition with prizes.

We were also among the first to experience the latest Luminor 42mm

Massive thank you to David Chen and Panerai Melbourne for curating such a tailored, intimate experience for our members.

I saw this sometime back and was completely mesmerized by it.

Never expected I'd actually find one sitting in the backyard of my tiny island 🇸🇬

No hype. No auction. No hunting through some obscure Japanese dealer.

And the crazy part?

It had been sitting untouched for almost 2 years.

Just quietly sitting inside an old red box, waiting to be found.

Sometimes the best finds aren't halfway around the world. They're right in your own backyard. 🇸🇬

Norway is crazy expensive, and somehow Switzerland manages to be even more expensive 😵‍💫🇳🇴🇨🇭

Yet the @micromilspec Milgraph is a rather interesting value proposition within the watch world 🤔
A Norwegian designed, Swiss Made military inspired chronograph that feels genuinely different from the usual suspects.

42mm Grade 5 titanium, QuadGrip bezel, a textured powdery dial, and a GMT chronograph powered by the La Joux Perret L121 (L122 for the Off-catalogue model) with a 60 hour power reserve ⚙️

There’s something about the proper tool watch character that appeals to me. Probably because it’s about as close as this silly city boy gets to anything remotely tactical 😅

A grail level piece for so many reasons, Seiko’s legendary 1960s Professional Diver, the 36,000 vph Hi-Beat movement, 300m water resistance, monobloc case construction, and a design that went on to influence generations of Seiko divers.

But beyond the specs, it’s the history, rarity and significance of this watch that make it so special. One of those pieces I’ve admired for years and never thought I’d actually own.
