A local man is bringing burgers to another Oklahoma small town!

Levi Bouska, owner of Butcher BBQ Stand in Wellston, recently opened Flipside Burgers in Luther, with a goal of bringing more dining options to small communities across Oklahoma.

The Route 66 restaurant serves fresh burgers, crinkle fries, grilled cheese and a few nostalgic favorites with plenty of attention to detail behind every item.

I may have a future news anchor for a daughter! ❤️

Elin was out of school today and instead of sleeping in and scrolling on TikTok, she opted to go on air with me for my monthly Motivation Monday segment on @news9. We crafted our talking points together and I helped her be as prepared as possible for questions she might be asked on air.

She was nervous on the drive in to the station this morning but I’m gonna tell ya, friends, she nailed it! Not a single um or uh to be heard.

After, she expressed interest in learning more about what it would take to go into broadcast news (music to this PR mama’s heart!):

We never know, parents, when bringing along our children to work will open their eyes to new opportunities.

Sooooo what did we talk about on air??

How parents can set high expectations while also setting boundaries and developing autonomy within our kids.

📌 Give choices, not commands.

📌 Provide our teens more space than we think they need.

📌 Allow them to fail and then learn from those failures.

Watch our full segment to hear what Elin appreciates the most about the ways I help keep her motivated! ⬇️

A longtime Oklahoma City favorite is back, and for the owner, it’s a full-circle story.

Classen Grill on Classen Circle first opened in the late 1970s before closing during the pandemic. Now, after reopening in 2024, it’s serving up longtime favorites, new menu items and plenty of memories for people who grew up eating there.

Even the owner and manager once came through the doors as customers. Lacie Lowry takes us inside the restaurant’s comeback and what’s changed…and what hasn’t.

That first call rang out - "dad, dad, dad...." as the rod handle pushed against her leg, letting Kenzi know different action was happening to the rod rather than just the rocking of the boat by the waves. I turned around and saw the rod tip being pulled violently towards the water. I had her help me reel for a little while before I boated the first fish out of the Mississippi River, a 27# blue cat. Game On!

The next fish gave a different fight coming in, making me think he was bigger, sure enough a 50# blue cat. He would be Kenzi's new personal best and the biggest for our boat of the day. Kenzi would end up with 5 more, ranging from 23# up. We had one triple happen, with three rods having 3 blues on at once; we were able to land all three during the melee. They were all released back into the water for a fight another day.

This adventure was provided by Charles Crook, the owner of Meat Hunter fishing rods. Charles had called me a year prior to ask if Kenzi would be interested in the trip. Charles had contacted me 6 years prior to see if Kenzi would be interested in spoonbill fishing at Grand Lake, and for those who followed that adventure, know she had an absolute blast!

Tommy Vaughn with No Wake Guide Service provided his Sea Ark boat and his time, helping to make Kenzi’s day, and Drake Holmes helped too, baiting lines, landing fish, and doing all the things to make a fishing day work. Tommy was right there for that paddlefish trip 6 years ago; Tommy's Sea Ark boat is big and is handicapped accessible, making getting Kenzi and her chair around in it manageable.

This all happened during Meat Hunter fishing rods annual pro staff fishing week, and we can't appreciate enough the effort to make this adventure such a success!

What started as a Saturday night family tradition became one of Oklahoma City’s favorite pizza spots.

The Hall’s Pizza Kitchen began with the Hall family making homemade pepperoni and sausage pizza together every Saturday night. Years later, that tradition grew from a food truck into a Midtown restaurant celebrating its ninth anniversary.

Today, the original “Saturday Night” pizza remains the restaurant’s top seller, with 16 specialty pizzas, homemade pastries and a story rooted in family.

And the history doesn’t stop at the food. Hall’s sits inside a former auto shop, where the original yellow parking lines are still visible on the floor.

Grady County leaders say they do not have the legal authority to pause plans for an 800-acre data center development near Amber. County commissioners say a moratorium cannot be issued for private property, though voters could approve a planning commission that may give the county more oversight.

SEC leaders are meeting to discuss possible penalties against LSU following controversy surrounding two former NFL players and the university's football roster. The SEC could potentially remove LSU from the conference, but that would require approval from two-thirds of the league's member schools.

Oklahoma City firefighters went above and beyond after a man became ill while mowing his yard. While the man was taken to the hospital by ambulance, firefighters finished mowing the yard for him.
