No Buy July/ Wardwrobe Freeze/ Shopping Hiatus

We’re half way through the month and I realised that I never posted anything about this!

Around mid-June I had hit something looked my 8th impulse purchase in a month. I was feeling incredibly stressed and trying to find some outlet in buying clothes. While they were all second hand, either from op shops or Instagram accounts, it was still unnecessary spending.

I decided that while the rest of Aus partook in Dry July, I would force myself into No Buy July.

The first week was tough. I felt the itch every time I went onto Instagram, the rush to grab something and know it was being mailed to me.

But now it’s feeling a little easier. I feel calmer, and I have already started asking myself “why?” anytime I feel that twinge of wanting to spend money on something I don’t actually need.

I’ll keep you updated on how the rest of the month goes 😊

And suddenly it’s winter again in Sydney?! ❄️ 😂 I really don’t mind it because I get to pull out my trench coal and turtle neck again. But I feel strange selling summer stuff! Luckily layering is a thing!

Carefully selected second hand pieces is all you’ll find here. Based in Sydney, my aim is to contribute to a more sustainable circular local economy of make > use > reuse > reuse > reuse > and then maybe upcycle 😉
