👏🏽 Congratulations to the team at the N.C. A&T Pathway 2 Human Lactation Training Program, which completed its continuing accreditation site visit yesterday!

This is the final step before the program's review is submitted to the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). The commission accredits educational programs in lactation consultancy. A&T's program was first accredited in 2020 and remains so throughout this process. 💙 💛

Find out more about the program via the link in our promo.

This is how it feels when your MIL and your cousin’s niece and your bestie from across the country and your sister’s baby daddy’s neighbor and that one lady you go to church with sometimes and the grandmother who runs the dry cleaners down the block and your dad who had his last kid in 1963 are all sitting in the living room with us trying to convince you that there’s no reason for me to be there. As long as you do it like they did it, you’ll be fine!

Next thing you know, you followed your nephew’s girlfriend’s pumping plan and you’re no longer making milk in the mornings so you’ve changed to formula, you’re suffering from PPD, and having intrusive thoughts. But “No, Candice, we’re good because the woman who owns the bodega down on 5th Avenue has convinced you “Who needs therapy? Therapy is for punks. In my day you just sucked it up and kept moving.”

The unsolicited advice from every Tom, Dick, Uncle Joe, and Aunt Mary has got to be a hard NO. You hired me for a reason. Let the expert do her job! 🙌🏽 If everyone is receptive to supporting the plan that MOM + BABY are comfortable with it makes my job so much easier.

Hello, everyone!

As we close Deaf and Hard of Hearing Breastfeeding Week, we want to celebrate our incredible community and reflect on this year’s theme: “Close the Gap, Strengthen the Bridge: Community, Care & Connection.”

This week, we shared stories, raised awareness, celebrated our community, and highlighted the importance of accessible breastfeeding and lactation support for Deaf and Hard of Hearing families.

Thank you to everyone who participated, shared, supported, and helped make this week possible. Your support means so much to our community!

And now, we are excited to announce the recipients of the 2026 Deaf and Hard of Hearing Breastfeeding Education Scholarship!

Had such a great time at @semissouristate today for a Clinical Skills Day hosted by @lactationtraining ! The training was so comprehensive and featured many things that I absolutely wanted more hands-on practice with! Nipple shields, oral assessment, and pumps—oh my!

Almost midnight, and I just completed 101 hours of lactation-specific education and officially earned my Certified Breastfeeding Specialist (CBS)™ credential. 🥹🤱🏽💜

A lot of the work behind the scenes happens late at night—after meetings, programs, trainings, emails, and running a business. But continuing to strengthen my knowledge means I can better support families, educate our community, and build stronger maternal health programs through Coaching Salud Holística.

Another credential, yes—but more importantly, another tool to serve families with evidence-based, culturally responsive lactation support.

Now I can finally go to sleep. 😂

Wondering what a lactation consultation with me actually looks like? 🤱🏽🌷

My goal is to make you feel heard, supported, and confident in the feeding choices that work for you and your baby.

During your consultation, we’ll:
✨ Talk about your health and feeding history
✨ Discuss your concerns and feeding goals
✨ Assess what may be contributing to your challenges
✨ Work together to find realistic solutions
✨ Create a personalized care plan designed for you and your baby

Consultations are available in-home or virtually, so you can receive support where you feel most comfortable. 🤍

No judgment. No one-size-fits-all approach. Just individualized support focused on helping you reach your goals.

📩 Ready to get started? DM Hopeful TwoLips to schedule your consultation.
