Cryotherapy exposes the body to extreme sub-zero temperatures for short periods of time (I did 3 minutes). This short exposure to cold can help trigger the body’s natural healing processes, leading to accelerated muscle recovery, reduced inflammation and helping to boost mood (endorphin release yay!).
I needed a quick reset and wake up. It was a day when coffee was doing very little and my mood was…well, moody.
3 minutes of cryotherapy later and I felt more awake, alert and alive. I rocked the rest of my day with lots of energy.

I’ve also followed a cryotherapy session with Halotherapy (combo of dry salt and red light) for an even better recovery and wellbeing reset.

“Shadow & Tell” from my Paper-cut Shadow Puppet Class’ tell & show at the 2026 @freakdownfestival Back To School Talent Show. The main difference from past class performances was that the overhead projector and puppeteers were visible in front of the screen on stage, as opposed to hidden behind it (which many introvert puppeteers prefer). This setup allowed the audience to see the puppeteers in action, and in essence be behind the scenes with them. The puppeteers were also introduced, able to interact with the audience and thus associated with the puppets that they made and then manipulated, as opposed to the anonymity of being behind the screen. This years puppets were made by:
1. Water Puppet by @mardio660 with puppeteer assistance from @jenna_lucyinthesky 2. Naked Mole Rat by @manateaparty 3. Possums by @amyinautumn 4. Knight by @rosscanderson 5. Dragon by @unabarrettjewelry 6. Transparency cut out and overlap by @tytycascadia aka @tytypix . Movie clips taken from “The Art of Lottie Reiniger” 1970. Big Thank you to @homiesean_ for the screen and support and for birthing this event, @roottoblossom for the transparencies and encouragement, @ajd_one for telling me to do the talent show with what we had, @saku_creates for the support and sign up sheet, @oregoncoastschoolofart & @free_ceramics for hosting, @thegreatphildad for the videos from the back, @fancymeg for the possum video, all of the former shadow puppet students, the laughing audience members, and the other not yet mentioned hard working Freakdown production crew (@lacyltodd , @theezel, @yoyoyokita ) who put on Back to School and included Shadow Puppets in the Electives and the talent show all these years. ❤️🙏 TyTy. #shadowpuppets #puppets #shadowpuppetry #overheadprojector #papercuttingart

2025 was fun. It also felt like I was gone every weekend. Despite all the bullshit happening in the bigger world, I’m grateful for this little life and all I share it with.

WOW. As we move into our final year, it’s time to celebrate three years of magic, mischief, and main-character moments.

We took the awkward, the painful, and the very dramatic parts of school and turned them into glitter & joy. Truly iconic behavior ✨

You dressed up, showed out, and made memories we’ll never forget 💖

This is a love letter to the past three years…
and an open invitation to do it one last time.

Grab your ticket and rewrite the story with us.
This is the final chapter.
Senior year is here and we’re graduating together 😭💫

Over the years, we’ve torn down walls, built new, painted, cleaned, and cared for this school in ways that last far beyond a single weekend. The work begins months before the party. It’s artists supporting artists, in real and material ways.

The @oregoncoastschoolofart is home to an artist residency program, which we participate in leading up to the event. Alongside that, @homiesean_ serves as a year-round resident and the school’s event director, helping to steward the vision over time.

What we build together isn’t temporary. The care and collaboration that goes into this work strengthens the school itself, leaving it better than we found it.
