so thankful to be apart of @studentsdemand and the gun violence prevention movement! this past week, i as well as several other volunteers in the movement got to go to DC for #GSU2026 where we had to opportunity to learn more about the movement, talk to lawmakers, and have so much fun! can’t wait for the next one 🧡

this is your sign to get involved in the things that matter to you!

This past week at GSU 2026, Moms Demand Action, Students Demand Action, and survivors of gun violence came together in Washington, D.C., to make our voices heard on Capitol Hill.

Our volunteers spent the day meeting with legislators and urging them to oppose H.R. 38, the Concealed Carry Mandate. This bill would require states to recognize concealed carry permits issued by other states, even when those permits were obtained under weaker standards than their own laws.

We shared our stories, advocated for our communities, and reminded elected officials that their responsibility is to represent the people they serve.

We gave it our all, and we hope our lawmakers listened. Advocacy works when people show up, speak out, and demand action.

Learn more about H.R. 38 below. ⬇️🧡

H.R. 38, the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act, would require states to recognize concealed carry permits issued by other states, even if those states have different or less strict requirements for getting a permit.
In simple terms: if someone is allowed to carry a concealed handgun in one state, this bill would generally allow them to carry it in other states as well, as long as they meet federal baseline rules.

When we’re struggling, it can feel like we’re carrying the weight of the world alone.

But the truth is, we have options. We have support. We have a community.

Whether you’re a mom, a student, a survivor, or an advocate, you belong here. Together, we lift each other up, support one another, and work toward a future free from gun violence.

Because no one should have to face these challenges alone. 🧡

We were all someone’s baby girl and boy first.🥹🌹💖

This Mother’s Day, we’re celebrating the loviers who’ve been on this journey with us, our team, our Day 1 creators, our village and their mommas. The founder, the marketers, the social team, the designers, the photographers, the videographers, the beauty pros, the creators. Some of you have seen these faces, some of you have seen their work, some of you have met them IRL and behind the scenes, some of you have met them at Essence, Galentine’s, and beyond. They bring the magic to what makes everything special.🪄🌹

Every baby and every mama got us here.

Happy Mother’s Day 🌹🫶🏽

Stand-your-ground and silencer laws under debate in Georgia — HB 1226 and HB 1324 are advancing at the Capitol. We are standing up at the Capitol against the advancement of these bills!
Don’t sit on the sidelines — take action now at GeorgiaMajority.org and let lawmakers know where you stand!!!

Six years ago, we lost Ahmaud Arbery to hate and vigilante violence.

His killers tried to hide behind Georgia’s “Shoot First” law — a law that too often values fear over facts and bias over justice. These laws don’t make us safer. They make deadly force easier to justify, especially against Black bodies.

When racism comes armed, the consequences are fatal.

Black lives matter. Ahmaud should still be here.

Today and every day, we honor his life by fighting to disarm hate, challenge unjust laws, and end gun violence in our communities. 🤍✊🏾
