It's been a wild, fulfilling, wonderful, difficult, perfect ten years. So many of you came along later, so I wanted to share some of the many eras of Modern over the years! Most of them were enormously centered around music, community and friendship - the true backbone of this entire business at its core. From records to in store living room shows to sold out events at venues. Local collabs with artists, breweries, venues, and even soccer teams! Awards won and lost, articles written along the way. So many eras. So many incredible people along the way. You each have served as these building blocks in my dream. Thank you for that. I hope I have been able to return even a fraction of the love and support you've given me. ❤️‍🔥

In light of yesterday’s shoplifting events, this felt like a really good reminder to share 🤍 When you shop and support small local businesses you’re quite literally supporting the people you’re talking to inside the business (hi!!🙋🏼‍♀️) and the local makers/vendors we have in the shop and our families and our dogs and our cats and hey maybe a goldfish idk?? You’re supporting us directly and in a greater sense the community you’re either living in or visiting. A huge part (if not the biggest part) of what makes Wilmington cool (and any other small town/city for that matter) is all the small locally owned shops and bars and restaurants in them. We’re extremely proud and happy and grateful to live and own a business in a community that really shows up in a big way, so thank you!! Let this serve as inspiration to get out there and support a small business today, it means a lot! And speaking of local love- these stickers (and our sidewalk board behind the sticker) are made by the lovely @lady.bird.studio !! 💖
