Every horse have left their unique imprints.

Ursul is the one who has influenced my life in many ways. ❤️

What was special about him was that when he came to me as a young, fresh started horse, he was very stressed, often right-brained extroverted, and quite explosive at times. He was also 175 cm tall and of a rather sturdy build. I fell in love at first sight and was 110% sure he was my prince.

It took weeks – months before we made it to the riding club's facilities. We lived on a farm a few kilometers away and needed transport. He would throw himself around and get scared just by seeing a horse trailer from a distance.

I then knew a little about a woman who had helped us before with "loading problems" and was generally known as being good with "problem horses".

I first asked her to train him, but she said that she no longer "trained" other people's horses in that way because they often fell back into the same pattern if their owners didn't learn.

As I said, he would throw himself around and was here and there in different neighbors' lawns.

He eventually loaded himself onto the trailer freely. I could release him from far away from the trailer, even at competitions.

I had ridden him outdoors at home, and eventually, we could go to training sessions. At training, some people would sometimes comment on how I dared to ride him since he could become explosive, scared, and tense. At competitions, he was generally known in the warm-up ring as one to "watch out for" as he sometimes panicked from all the activity, especially if someone rode past close by.

I knew all along that he wasn't stupid, just scared and tense. And as long as I steered him towards the jumps, he would jump, often high over them too, as he really didn't want to hit them. But he found security in the pattern of the course, which also made me feel secure.

I truly loved him. He underwent surgery for laryngeal paralysis, and after rehabilitation, when he still had difficulty breathing during exertion, he had a second surgery where the vocal cord was removed. Unfortunately, it later turned out that the surgeries were unsuccessful.
