My favorite roommate, my built-in best friend, my lil sister forever. ❤️ You may be taller than me, but I’m still your big sister lol. I’m my sister’s keeper, and I’ll always ride for you. Seeing these throwback pictures with Mom makes me know she’s looking down on us so proud. It’s crazy how much we look like Mom in our own ways. We may not have a big family, but we have each other, and that means everything. Love you always, sis. We got each other. ❤️ till the wheels fall off and even after that ♾️

Happy Heavenly Birthday, Mommy. 🎂🕊️❤️

I was only 17, a senior in high school, when I lost you at just 36 years old to congestive heart failure. I was still so young trying to understand your battle with addiction, and there were so many things I didn’t fully understand back then.

Then at 26, Schizophrenia changed my life.

Going through my own invisible battle gave me a deeper compassion for yours. Our struggles were different, but I finally understood what it meant to fight something inside yourself that other people couldn’t always see or understand.

I wish I could sit with you now, woman to woman. I wish I could tell you how much I understand differently now. I wish you could see the woman I became — the mother, the advocate, the woman who survived some of her darkest days and learned how to turn pain into purpose.

Addiction never defined all of who you were, just like schizophrenia will never define all of who I am.

You were my mommy, my best friend, my biggest supporter, my adventure buddy, the one who called me mamacita and ladybug, and the one who always believed in me. 🥺❤️

The older I get, the more I realize just how young 36 really was, and that part hurts in a whole different way now.

But I carry you with me in everything I do.

Happy 49th Heavenly Birthday, Mommy. I hope Heaven is celebrating you BIG today. I love you forever and always. 🕊️❤️
