NEW WORK: @nameandnumber for @mls

We ❤️ a challenge. And this one was definitely that.

Our friends at MLS us tasked with shooting the yet-to-be-revealed 2025 official match ball across 9 markets with the aim of celebrating historic moments and players ahead of the League’s 30th season.

With about 10 days to pull it off, we tapped our network of talented videographers (check out the final slide to see the full crew) to execute shoots in Atlanta, DC, Philly, Toronto, Miami, San Jose, Los Angeles, Seattle, and San Diego.

Our guy Will Walsh (@mlswill) then took all the clips coming in, creatively incorporated some awesome archival footage courtesy MLS, and we delivered the final version just in time for the launch of the new ball.

And, while we might be a little biased, we’re big fans of the green and blue look which calls back to the ball used in the inaugural 1996 season.

The MLS season is coming to an end this weekend. It was my 28th season covering the league. It has grown so much that it is hard to believe how much it has changed over the years. Although things have become a little bit more challenging it is still a fun ride covering both LA teams.
