“My work is loving the world.
…
Are my boots old? Is my coat torn?
Am I no longer young, and still half-perfect? Let me
keep my mind on what matters,
which is my work,
which is mostly standing still and learning to be
astonished.
…
which is gratitude, to be given a mind and a heart
and these body-clothes,
a mouth with which to give shouts of joy
to the moth and the wren, to the sleepy dug-up clam,
telling them all, over and over, how it is
that we live forever.”
- pieces of “The Messenger” by Mary Oliver

just had the absolute privilege of spending a month in the woods with @lagringasabe and 10 young adults leading the NC mountains phase of their Fall Semester course
it was dreamy: my coco, the weather, the route, my students, watching the summer turn to fall…
better than i could have ever imagined
thank you for am amazing end of my NCOBS season
until next time

A few more photos from our last outing with the HAWK group. It was a privilege to accompany this group and learn more about the flora of our National Park.

We had a wonderful romp in the National Park. The rain didn't dampen the spirits of this group as we hiked to Laguna Ilon. Grateful to have learned so much about the native Nothofagus forest from this group of students and professors from HAWK (University of Applied Sciences and Arts).

SPI Course 2024 was a trip. Getting to hang and climb with these crazy folks over the past couple days was such a joy. Being in a place like this always reminds me why I love my job and where I am. The journey continues.

Ir livianito, para mantenerse en movimiento! 🛶🏔️⛷️

Magia pura.
