The theme of the last year continues to be optimizing the suboptimal and playing the hand I’m dealt with a smile. A lot of mixed emotions about this one given the result was far from what I’m currently capable of, but a week full of many curve balls (best one being that I got my phone stolen day 2 🙈) will do that to you. Walking away from this experience grateful for the lessons in humility, resilience, adaptability in the face of adversity, and humbled to toe the line with some of the world’s best athletes. This is only the beginning, trust🤞🏾 Super grateful for all the new friends I made along the way and a huge shout out to @traoxe @arthurguecisse @thatguy_ismael for keeping my head on straight. (They also brought home the 🥇on the way to a new national record!) Forever thankful for all of the love and support everyone continues to pour into me! The fire has been stoked, and I’m ready to get back to work 😤chin up and eyes forward to the next one. 📸: @olaotan.atilade #FEARTHEFRO #24thafricanathleticschampionships #trackandfield #steeplechase #côtedivoire🇨🇮
