This season was put on my heart long before it ever began.

The preparation for this team didn’t start in November—it started years ago. Every lesson God was teaching me, every athlete He allowed me to coach, every success, every failure, every championship, and every heartbreak was preparing me for this group.

And what a blessing they have been.

This season reminded me exactly why I coach.

It’s never been about WHAT these athletes can do.
It’s always been about WHO they become.

Nationals perfectly reflected this team’s journey. We came out on Day 1 and underperformed. Our backs were against the wall, and we had a choice: fold or fight.
These girls chose to fight.
John and I talked early in the season about how 15s was different than 14s. This level was going to require more of them. More focus. More discipline. More maturity. More mental strength.
And when it mattered most, they answered the call.
Watching them compete courageously, trust one another, stay present, and battle through adversity made me prouder than any finish ever could.
The greatest victory wasn’t what happened on the scoreboard.
It was watching these young women become stronger leaders, better teammates, and more resilient people.
Because I truly believe good humans become great athletes.
And that’s exactly who these girls are becoming.
No, 5th place wasn’t the goal.
But it is still something to be incredibly proud of. This team represented our club, their families, and themselves with character, grit, and heart. That’s something no medal can measure.
To our parents—thank you for trusting us with your daughters. Thank you for supporting the process, believing in our vision, and choosing to be team-first parents. Your trust never went unnoticed.
And to John…
There isn’t anyone else I would’ve wanted beside me this season.

15 National Black, thank you.

Thank you for allowing God to work through this season.
I’ll remember this team for a very long time. ❤️
