ɴʟ | Maak kennis met Maartje Claes en Carla Robin, twee van de young curators achter IT NEVER SSST in het Belgische paviljoen in Venetië. Zij begeleiden het publiek doorheen het werk van Miet Warlop, bewaken de circulatie in de zaal en zorgen dat elk spoor van de performance zichtbaar blijft, ook als de performers er even niet zijn. In maart 2027 komt de performatieve tentoonstelling naar Kanal.

ᴇɴ | Meet Maartje Claes and Carla Robin, two of the young curators behind IT NEVER SSST at the Belgian Pavilion in Venice. Together they guide the public through Miet Warlop’s work, keep the room’s circulation running, and make sure every trace of the performance, even when the performers step away. The performative exhibition comes to Kanal in March 2027.

ꜰʀ | Rencontrez Maartje Claes et Carla Robin, deux des jeunes curateur·rices d’IT NEVER SSST au pavillon belge à Venise. Ensemble, elles guident le public à travers le travail de Miet Warlop, veillent à la circulation dans la salle et s’assurent que chaque trace de la performance reste visible, même en l’absence des performeur·euses. L’exposition performative sera rejouée à Kanal en mars 2027.

A la presentació final a @thegreencorridor.brussels, l'artista va dur a terme una obertura de procés que es va desplegar en una sèrie d'instal·lacions a l'espai, utilitzant l'estructura arquitectònica del lloc per jugar i moure's entre els paradigmes privats i públics, l'exposició i la invisibilitat, la performance i la memòria. Tot això a partir del material generat al llarg de la seva investigació durant la residència a TGC.

En la presentación final en @thegreencorridor.brussels, la artista llevó a cabo una apertura de proceso que se desplegó en una serie de instalaciones en el espacio, utilizando la estructura arquitectónica del lugar para jugar y moverse entre los paradigmas de lo privado y lo público, la exposición y la invisibilidad, la performance y la memòria. Todo ello a partir del material generado a lo largo de su investigación durante la residencia en TGC.

📢The @yosoylametro International Residency at The Green Corridor comes to an end, accompanied by mentoring from @lailamelchior.

In the final presentation at @thegreencorridor.brussels, the artist opened up the process, which unfolded in a series of installations in the space, using the architectural structure of the venue to play and move between the paradigms of the private and the public, exposure and invisibility, performance and memory. All of this was based on the material generated throughout her research during her residency at TGC.

En trobar que a l’Arxiu de Bèlgica existeix la categoria ‘WHORE’, reflexiona sobre com els cossos han estat classificats històricament i arxivats des de fora, des d'aquesta autoritat de l'arxiu.

La seva proposta és fer servir l'autoritat epistèmica de les pròpies sexotreballadores per intuir i desvetllar treballadores sexuals a les parets dels museus i al mateix arxiu.

@yosoylametro comparte en su feed el primer período en Bruselas, donde ha sido nutrida a través de lo cotidiano.

Al encontrar que en el Archivo de Bélgica existe la categoría WHORE, reflexiona sobre cómo los cuerpos han sido clasificados históricamente y archivados desde fuera, desde esta autoridad del archivo.

Su propuesta es utilizar la autoridad epistémica de las propias sexotrabajadoras para intuir y desvelar trabajadoras sexuales en las paredes de los museos y en el mismo archivo.

📢First month of the Metro International Residency at @thegreencorridor.brussels with mentoring by @lailamelchior

@yosoylametro shares her first period in Brussels on her feed, where she has been nourished through everyday life.

Upon discovering that the Belgian Archives contain a category labelled WHORE, she reflects on how bodies have historically been classified and archived from the outside, from the perspective of the archival authority.

Her proposal is to use the epistemic authority of sex workers themselves to intuit and reveal sex workers on the walls of museums and in the archives themselves.

On 10 October, Curatorial Studies and Rupert Alternative Education Programme (AEP) will host a public educational session, inviting artists, cultural practitioners, and all those interested to participate in this open workshop.
Rooted in processes of collective, self-organised learning, the gathering will explore alternative educational models, collaborative methodologies, and the often-unseen aspects of artistic labour beyond individual production.

Through a generative sequence of questions and responses, artists, researchers, and curators from diverse disciplinary and institutional backgrounds have collaboratively developed a set of propositions — or ‘codes of conduct’ — that reflect shared values and visions for working in the arts today. This public session invites participants to encounter, reflect on, and engage with these ideas.

The workshop is curated by @laurammherman and @goda__palekaite , and @levelfive.brussels and will be moderated by @lailamelchior , coordinator at Level Five Artist Cooperative — a Brussels initiative that actively engages with the themes explored in the event.

De Ernest Albert Invitational wordt gecureerd door Laila Melchior! Zij is schrijver en curator, en werkt vaak op de drempel tussen het individuele en collectieve maakprocessen. Ze creëert samen, bemiddelt ontmoetingen en omarmt niet-dominante perspectieven.

Melchior werkt als studio coordinator bij Level Five en organiseert het Young Curators’ Programma in het Belgische Paviljoen van de Venetië Biënnale.

Ernest Albert Invitational – Ways of Going Home is curated by Laila Melchior! She is a writer and curator whose practice unfolds into exhibition-making, public programming, forms of writing and critical approach. Investigating the threshold of individual creation and collaborative bodies, she often works by creating together, mediating encounters and embracing non-dominant perspectives in this process.

She works as Studio Coordinator at Level Five—Artist Cooperative Brussels and runs the Young Curators’ Programme at the Belgian Pavilion, Venice Biennale Arte.

A través de la investigació a Brussel·les, l'artista proposa recollir la memòria oral i visual dels activismes i cultures públiques produïdes per les treballadores sexuals per (re)construir la memòria exclosa a la història convencional, i fins i tot a la dels activismes LGTBIQ+, a través d'un arxiu exclusiu al respecte.
