Last night was my first time at Millstream and started out great with a 3rd place qualifying effort putting me in 2nd for the heat race.

Two fast cars in my heat got by me but I maintained 3rd and maintained a pretty good pace not losing the leaders to fast and learning from them. Then the bad news for the night, I went over the scales 3 pounds light and took a DQ. however… the 5th place car missed the scale entirely, which ended up putting him in last and me in officially 5th place the last transfer spot.

In the feature I started P20 of 24 cars and on the start a car almost spun in front of me and I fell back to 22nd right off the bat. I was feeling really good running the top but had trouble getting a rhythm going with constant cautions and having to give spots back due to the timing of cautions. Eventually we got a good green flag run and I worked my way all the way up to 12th place and felt like I had a solid top 10 pace if I had more time.

Thank you to mom and dad for the help during the double header weekend, as well as Chuck for help on the car and my friends and family who came a long way to support me this weekend during both races. overall, I had a great time and look forward to my next race at Montpelier on October 3rd for the season finale
