@thawout.nc 2026 — officially in the books and these pics sum it up: just big smiles, singing and dancing for 5+ hours rain and shine with so many wonderful people ❤️ @thegringoss were AMAZING and the only set I worked my way to the front for (just because they’re soo good), but every band was incredible.
Things I realized:
→ I almost didn’t go. The weather was iffy, I was wiped from the prior week, and the couch was looking really good. But the second I got there and saw my friends, every ounce of tired evaporated. The days you almost talk yourself out of are usually the best ones.
→ If you’re wondering how I got these calves… it’s because I’m a jumping bean when I dance 😂 (also makes it easier to find me in the crowd - just look for the girl who is bouncing up and down 🤷‍♀️💃)
→ I’ll be 45 in May, and I used to think there’d be a moment when I’d age out of things like this. Turns out — that moment doesn’t exist unless you decide it does. People care about the energy you bring, not the year on your ID. 44 has been way cooler than I ever thought it would be, and if anyone younger is reading this: you can keep doing the things that bring you joy for a LONG time. Don’t let the “should I still…” voice win.
→ I’m lucky to have friends ranging from their 20s through their 70s. That’s a 50-year span of perspective I get to learn from, and I never take it for granted.
There’s joy in everything and we’re more capable than we think — including capable of saying yes when our brain is trying to talk us out of it. 🌞

Also - shoutout @aaroncole441 for being my festival angel and helping me get in and out effectively 🙏🙏🙏
