What’s the matter in not being the best? What’s the problem in doing something purely just because you feel good about doing that? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The truth is the main goal in life should be having fun and spreading love. We never know if we like something until we do it. Just go, be brave and dive in! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ (PT) Uma das minhas resoluções de ano novo era fazer aquilo que eu tivesse vontade. Independente dos meus medos ou das expectativas de outras pessoas. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ E aí, lá fui eu, fazer aula de surf, windsurf e, hoje, pular de paraquedas… ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Apesar da minha cara de aparente desespero na primeira foto – contrastando com a cara super plena do @pedrocanto1 –, eu tava feliz demais e amei cada segundo. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Então, deixa os medos de lado e faz o que tem vontade – seja pular de paraquedas ou aprender um novo idioma. A gente nunca sabe se vai gostar de algo até fazer. Lesson #3 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ (EN) I don’t have to do anything that I don’t want to do. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’ve spent several years doing what others would like me to do. I’ve spent years neglecting what I wanted in order to please others. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In a certain moment I’ve realised that I wasn’t doing what I wanted, but what others expected me to do. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So, during the last few months I’ve been trying to find where the everyone else ends and where I begin. What in my life is what I want and what is here because of others. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Maybe this is one the hardest lessons I’ve learnt this year, but I believe this is the greatest as well. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ (PT) Eu não sou obrigada a fazer o que não quero fazer. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Eu passei anos fazendo o que os outros gostariam que eu fizesse. Eu passei anos negligenciando o que eu queria para agradar aos outros. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Em um certo momento eu percebi que não estava fazendo o que eu queria, mas o que os outros gostariam que eu fizesse. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Então, durante os últimos meses eu tenho tentado encontrar onde todos os outros terminam e onde eu começo. Lesson #2 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ (EN) I’ve learnt not to judge so much. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’ve judged during all my life. It all based on my own concepts of right or wrong. A man that steals, an alcoholic who can’t stop drinking, a father who leaves the family behind, rich and poor. But I’ve judged myself more than anyone else… ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Well… I’ve broken some rules myself. And to live with it, to live with myself, I had to stop judging me and the others. I had to start to really understand what people have gone through to do what they did. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’ve learnt that we all do what we do because of what we think is right and better for us. And this is when I started to learn to live with my – and everyone else’s – shadows. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ (PT) Eu aprendi a não julgar tanto. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Eu julguei durante toda a minha vida. Todos julgamentos baseados nos meus próprios conceitos de certo ou errado. Um homem que rouba, um alcoólatra que não consegue parar de beber, um pai que deixa a família, ricos e pobres. Mas eu me julguei muito mais do que qualquer um… ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Bem… Eu quebrei minhas próprias regras. E para viver com isto, para viver comigo mesma, eu precisei parar de julgar, a mim e aos outros. Eu precisei começar a realmente entender pelo que as pessoas passaram e por quê elas fizeram o que fizeram. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Eu aprendi que tudo que fizemos é baseado no que pensamos que é melhor ou certo para nós naquele momento. And well, that the bigger the dream, the longer it takes to work out. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’ve cried and stressed so many times over the years because things didn’t go as fast as I’ve planned. The truth is that things seem to work when they are meant to work. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Sometimes we are not prepared to hold that burden. Sometimes life has better plans for us. Sometimes you have to learn some lessons. And then, if you keep doing your part things work out when they should. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ (PT) Durante esta próxima semana vou compartilhar algumas reflexões sobre coisas que aprendi neste ano. Aqui vai a primeira. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Eu aprendi a ser mais paciente. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Eu aprendi que a maioria das coisas leva tempo. E, bem, que quanto maior o sonho, mais tempo leva para funcionar. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Eu chorei e me estressei tantas vezes ao longo dos últimos anos porque as coisas não funcionavam do jeito que eu queria. A verdade é que as coisas funcionam quando devem funcionar. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Às vezes nós não estamos preparados para segurar o fardo. Às vezes a vida tem planos diferentes dos nossos. Às vezes nós temos que aprender algumas lições. E então, se continuamos a nos esforçar as coisas funcionam quando elas deveriam funcionar. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ E você? [ Grand Central Station ] • Apesar de estar um tempo sem fotografar, nesse final de ano quero relembrar momentos marcantes que tive em 2018. Essas são fotos inéditas da experiência que tive em Nova York, como por exemplo a famosa Grand Central Station. Um marco arquitetônico no coração de Manhattan, que está super presente no cotidiano dos moradores da Big Apple. Milhares de pessoas passam por ela todos os dias e é dificil poder prestar atenção nos pequenos detalhes que fiz questão de registrar. . Although it’s been a while since I photograph, however in this end of year I want to remember remarkable moments of 2018. These are new photos from the experience I had in New York, such as the famous Grand Central Station. An architectural landmark at the heart of Manhattan, that's very present in the daily lives of the Big Apple residents. Thousands of people pass by it every day and it is difficult to pay attention to the small details, which I really wanted to register.
