❓And do you know what else happens in Jamaica? 🇯🇲

The 30th Session of the International Seabed Authority (ISA).

From 3 to 28 of March it happened the Part I of the 30th Session of the International Seabed Authority (ISA).

🌊 ISA is an autonomous international organization, established under the agreements in the @unitednations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), through which States Parties to UNCLOS organize and control all mineral-resources-related activities in the Area for the benefit of humankind as a whole. The Area and its resources are the common heritage of humankind. The Area covers around 54% of the total area of the world’s oceans. In so doing, ISA has the mandate to ensure the effective protection of the marine environment from harmful effects that may arise from deep-seabed-related activities. ISA, which has its headquarters in Kingston, Jamaica, came into existence on 16 November 1994, and it became fully operational in June 1996.

🧜‍♀️ Our incredible @soalliance leaders @danielcaceres and @9e6arroca were there representing the voices of youth. Bringing the message to decision-makers that we have the opportunity to stop a catastrophe by regulating the protection of our oceans. Seabed mining is the first human extractive activity that we can prevent before it occurs. [JAMAICA]

But Jamaica keeps fighting for it’s #freedom 🕊️
From massive Tourism to Gentrification 🏦
From Tsunami threats to Coral Blanching 🪸
One of the most alarming challenges in Jamaica (for me)
It is the privatization of the Beaches, of our Ocean 🌊
The Caribbean Region has been facing massive pression of
Gentrification and privatization of their lands
In the past few years
Which excludes the access of our collective areas from locals
From the original people of these lands and oceans 🏹
What scares me the most is that this exploiring behavior
Has being gaining strenght and Bill Projects
To aprove this exclusion
Have been discussed in different Congresses
Throughout Latin America and the Caribbean
Like the PEC 03/22 in Brazil 🇧🇷
But despite of all these challenges
#Jamaica is the home where people
#GetUp and #StandUp for our Collective Rights
So let’s join the people of Jamaica 🇯🇲
For the liberation of their lands
For the freedom of their people
For the respect of our Human and Nature Rights ✊🏿

Inspiring Nations and Generations
Bob Marley not only united two opposing parties
But he united the people through his music and messages of peace 🏳️
Fighting for the freedom of his land and his people
Bob Marley became a global icon 🌎
Unfortunately we will not meet all our prophets
But I’m glad I had the opportunity to learn and live
Through his memory
Visiting his home, the house where he was shot,
The land called Jamaica 🇯🇲
It’s beautiful to see how his wisdom continues
Through his family
Who preserves his contributions to the world
With the @bobmarleyfoundation
And thanks to these memory holders
We can visit the @bobmarleymuseum in Kingston.
This year he would be celebrating his 80th birthday
And from children to the elders
We united in Emancipation’s Park
To share moments of hope in a world that has been into so much trouble 🔥
I deeply believe that in times of genuine happiness
We wish this world so well
That the lights that shine inside us 💫
Make it possible to recycle ♻️
And change the tides
Of this world 🌊

We’re jammin’ ✨ Jamaica me crazy

Não sou muito de escrever por aqui, mas esse país tem meu coração e cada segundo valeu muito!

Essa é uma viagem que eu recomendo para todos, porque ela vai muito além do que as pessoas associam quando falamos da Jamaica.

Nós atravessamos a ilha de oeste à leste, norte à sul, da praia para a serra, da cachoeira ao mar e do reggae ou reggae obviamente hehe

Conhecemos e comemoramos os 80 anos de Bob Marley, no lugar onde viveu, amou, criou sua família e deixou seu legado para o mundo escutar e sentir com muito amor suas palavras. Chorei e ainda choro quando me lembro de tudo que vi dentro da sua casa e de tudo que a sua musica me remete.
Todos temos nossos ídolos, esse é o meu! Que mesmo não estando mais aqui, ainda toca o coração de todos e sempre nos faz lembrar que todos somos um, one love and one heart ♥️

E fazer essa trip linda, não poderia ser mais perfeita do que com bons amigos, muita risada, uma baita van e roots, rock and reggae!
