We are incredibly honored and humbled to be featured by @LAistOfficial . ❤️🌮 As a family-owned business proudly serving #OrangeCounty stories like this mean the world to us. It gives us the opportunity to share the journey, sacrifices, and hard work that started with our father and continues today through the De Anda family. A very special thank you to Yusra for telling our story with such care and heart. You truly made us feel special, and we are grateful for the time and effort you put into highlighting our family’s journey. 🙏✨ From serving tacos in Orange County to becoming part of so many family traditions, we never take your support for granted. This recognition belongs to our family, our incredible team, and the amazing community that has supported us along the way. Thank you, Orange County, for allowing us to do what we love every day. ❤️ 🌮 The De Anda Family #TaqueriaHoy #FamilyBusiness #SantaAna #MakingTacosSince1980

The journalists you hear on 89.3 FM (formerly KPCC, but that’s a story for another post!) and read on LAist are part of @kpcclaistunion. For months now, we've been pushing the company to pay a fair living wage to tell stories in one of the most expensive regions in the country. I feel so lucky to have worked full-time in journalism for almost a decade now. Over the years I've seen so many colleagues leave because of low pay. I've seen talented young journalists, particularly journalists of color never enter the field because of the instability. So right now I'm asking for your support in a slightly different way than usual. 💸Please donate $8.93 to show the company you support our fight. We picked that number because that's our radio station here in Los Angeles. The link is in my bio! After you submit your donation there's an option to leave a comment. That's where you can put #WeMakeKPCCLAist. 💌Some of you might know I'm a big fan of snail mail. If you want to send me a screen shot of your donation and address, I'd love to put a little thank you card in the mail. And as always, I appreciate from the bottom of my heart that you take the time to read and listen and really engage with your community through mine and my colleague’s stories.
