3 underrated programs you need to know about in Florida.

These programs have a history of developing talent, winning, and helping players reach the next level.

Don’t overlook the JUCO route. Plenty of opportunities to get on the field early and make an impact right away.

The list keeps growing.

Florida Gulf Coast University
College Scouting Bureau

Both have joined us for the LBA HS Showcase on November 14 in Leesburg.

And they’re joining an already strong group of programs:

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
Florida Southern College
Daytona Beach Christian University
Hillsborough Community College
Lake-Sumter State College
Santa Fe College
Polk State College

Different levels. Different paths. One opportunity.

I am extremely blessed and excited to announce my commitment to Lake Sumter State College to continue my academic and athletic career.

First I would like to thank my parents for everything they have done for me, all the support they have given me, and for pushing me to become the best version of myself. I would also like to thank Coach Logan for helping me out since I was young and being there for me as well as Coach Lastings for teaching me the game since I was little helping me become the player I am today.

Thank you to all my coaches, teammates, and everyone who has supported me along the way. I would also want to thank Coach Billings for giving me this opportunity to play at the next level and for believing in me as a player and person. It’s time to work! #wingsup #golakehawks💙💚

This evening we celebrated @lakehawkbsb third baseman, Bruno Vazquez, for being named to the 2026 ABCA/Rawlings NJCAA DII Gold Glove Team becoming the first in program history to achieve this prestigious honor

In 49 games played in the 2026 season, Bruno posted a .960 fielding percentage in 101 chances from third base.

Prior to this award, he was also named to the FCSAA DII Gold Glove Team and the FCSAA Championship All-Tournament Team after helping the Lakehawks to a runner up finish at the FCSAA tournament in May

Congrats Bruno!🤘

So I did a thing…

After years of coaching and working with players, I decided to open up Leesburg Baseball Academy.

Baseball has given me a lot, and I want to give something back to the Burg.

I believe there is a lot of talent in this community. I also believe too many players miss out on opportunities because their families can’t afford expensive lessons, travel teams, or showcases.

LBA is about changing that. We’re going to work hard to keep baseball affordable and give as many players as possible the opportunity to develop, compete, and chase their dreams.

We’re kicking things off with our first LBA HS SHOWCASE on November 14th at Pat Thomas Stadium.

College coaches. High school players. One opportunity to get seen, get better, and take the next step.

To the players: Keep working. Keep believing. Your opportunity might be closer than you think.

To the parents: I know what it costs to support a baseball player. I want LBA to be something your family can afford and feel good about investing in.

To the Burg: This is your baseball community. Let’s build something our kids can be proud of.

ACCESS. EXPOSURE. OPPORTUNITY.

Growing the game in the Burg.

The NEST IS BEING BUILT!

For generations, Yellow Jacket Baseball players have left their mark on Leesburg and on in to accomplish great things.

We’re building our alumni database and a permanent Nest of Legacy at the Pat!!! We want to recognize former Yellow Jackets who:

⚾️ Played College Baseball
⚾️ Played Professional Baseball
⚾️ Earned All-State honors
⚾️ Earned All-Region honors

If you accomplished one of these, please fill out the form linked in our bio.

We want to honor the past so we can inspire the future!
