To understand the Hanuman in Khmer culture, you have to experience him in dance. In the Ramayana, he dominates. In the Khmer epic Reamker, he is a warrior, loyal, mischievous and a romantic. A touch of human with an emphasis on devotion.

Lake, one of Wat Buddharangsey’s instructors shares many of those same traits with the Hanuman. Full of love and devotion for family, for friends, for culture but still leaves room for play.

Wat Buddharangsey Youth Group is actively looking for new members of all ages beginning 3 y/o to join their dance troupe. Practices are completely open to anyone who would like to join or observe. Dance classes commence immediately after language classes on Sunday from 1-3PM. You may contact the youth group’s Instagram account @wat.buddharangsey.yg or the program coordinator Stephanie Kuy at (832) 671-0204
