Our visit to Yapang last week also included taking in the exhibition of First Nations ceramics- Of This Earth. A touring exhibit by the National Gallery.
It included a striking sculpture that depicts one version of an indigenous story about the discovery of fire - How Waan Turned Black by Sean Miller.
Open till the end of November as well and worth taking a look.

Yesterday we went out to Lake Macquarie to experience Yapang’s new exhibit by Adam Manning - Embodied Rhythm.
I first became aware of Adam’s work as part of the Upriver Downriver exhibit at Maitland Regional Art Gallery and he is now quickly becoming my favourite artist working in the area.
He’s a bit of a polymath; composing, performing, filming, photographing, painting. Music, arts, design and academic research. I am particularly fond of his musical compositions but some of his paintings are truly polyphonic, delivering music your eyes can see.
I’ll be definitely trying to get back out to @themacmuseum to see this wonderful collection again before the end of its run in late November.

Thankyou to everyone who came to support the Sugarloaf Studios artists at our opening exhibition!!

We had a full house, and it was wonderful to see so many people in this vibrant space enjoying what we created.

The exhibition will be open to the public Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10am - 4pm from now until the 24th of October. You’ll find us at 13 Brooks St, West Wallsend, NSW.

I managed to snap pics with my husband, daughter and dad, but missed the opportunity to get photos with my friends and my son.

I’m so proud of my fellow artists, and will share their work in another post.

My art featured includes:
Wander the Mountain
Let Wonder Lead I and II
Sugarloaf Tree Stories I, II and III

Thankyou @lakemacarts 💛
