JJ Redick went from being questioned by Lakers fans to making a statement on opening night. 👀🔥

After facing criticism over his rotations, roster decisions and comments about the team's fit, Redick's new-look Lakers delivered a dominant 127–105 win over the Warriors.

Walker Kessler was unstoppable in his Lakers debut, Luka Dončić led the way, and Austin Reaves delivered too.

Is this just one great game, or are the Lakers building something special? Could this squad become the next NBA dynasty?

The #Lakers opened the 2026-27 season with a statement, taking down Golden State 127-105 to start 1-0. 🟣🟡

Luka Dončić led the way with 28 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists, finishing an impressive +31 in just 30 minutes. Walker Kessler was nearly flawless, putting up 26 points on a perfect 12-for-12 from the field, along with 9 rebounds and 2 blocks. Austin Reaves added 23 points and 6 assists.

A few things stood out to me beyond the box score:

Kessler’s presence inside was exactly what this team needed. His ability to finish around the rim, roll to the basket and protect the paint gives Luka another legitimate weapon offensively.

Mamu looks like he could be a serious upgrade in the rotation. I like what he brings in terms of versatility, energy and offensive flexibility.

Jake LaRavia’s shooting mechanics look noticeably quicker. If that translates into consistent perimeter shooting, he’s going to make a strong case for more minutes.

Ziaire Williams could quietly become one of this team’s biggest X-factors. His development and consistency will be worth watching as the season progresses.

The backup center situation still concerns me. Kevon Looney hasn’t shown enough to make me comfortable with our depth at that position. That’s something the front office needs to keep an eye on.

My biggest takeaway? There’s plenty to like about this Lakers team, but I’m not getting carried away after one game. Golden State’s lack of size was obvious, and that’s something we have to account for when evaluating this performance.

Still, you can only play who’s in front of you, and the Lakers handled business convincingly.

82 games is a long season, but this was a hell of a way to start.

1-0. Lakers Always Will. 🐍💜💛

God forbid the Lakers get a lil motion…

The Lakers just beat the Warriors by 22, Walker Kessler went a PERFECT 12/12 from the field in his debut, Luka dropped 28 and Reaves added 23.

We are ONE game into the season and somehow already making Shaq and Kobe comparisons.

82-0 is still on the table 😈
