It's #SelfCareSaturday 🗣️
Today, I had the pleasure of interviewing Actor, Performer, Member of the Chicago Modern Orchestra Project, Chicago Sinfonietta, and the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, World Class Principal and Solo Concert Bassoonist, @lamarccurtis Lamar Carey Curtis for Episode 7 of the "Be the Message" Podcast. We talked about Men's Mental Health Awareness, DEI and discrimination in the classical music genre, traveling abroad while black, overcoming imposter syndrome, defying racial stereotypes, and MUCH MORE to make you cry, laugh, and think twice before you judge a book by its cover! 👀

Did you miss it? Catch the replay on my @lovesgreatdesign YouTube channel! ⤵️

New visuals for Fox Instruments artist Lamar C. Curtis. We set out to show his personality in two truths: the split-light portrait for focus and precision, and the full-length laugh for ease and joy. We chose deep navy to project calm strength and clarity it lets the bassoon’s warm wood and silver keywork stand out while aligning with Lamar’s modern, steady voice. Sound. Color. Character. @lamarccurtis

It's a wrap! So grateful for all of the wonderful people that helped make the @uncgdoublereedday such a great success. Thanks to our wonderful guest artists, our amazing vendors, all of our students in the @uncgoboes and @uncgbassoons, the entire @uncgsom and director Charles Young, and, of course all of the Double Reed folks who came out on a Saturday! Our hearts are full. #uncgdoublereeds #uncgdoublereedday #doublereedday #doublereeds #doublereedvendors #uncgbassoons #uncgoboes #uncgsom #uncgschoolofmusic #bassoon #oboe #englishhorn #contrabassoon #idrslife
