🇦🇷 Wishing Erik Lamela all the best on his retirement! 🤍

The former Spurs attacking midfielder has ended his contract with AEK Athens and will now join Sevilla’s coaching staff. At 33, it was coming, but seeing a fan favourite hang up his boots is never easy. 👟

👑 Lamela was the rabona king, scoring an audacious effort against Asteras Tripolis at White Hart Lane and the Puskas-winning beauty against Arsenal at the Emirates.

He’ll also be remembered for the elbows, the ball rolls, dribbling out of his own box in the 97th minute against Ajax in the UCL semi-final, that infamous dive that got Martial sent off in a 1-6 win at Old Trafford - and all the chaos in between. 🔥

😈 A master of the dark arts, Lamela slid into tackles in his own box, stepped on Fabregas’ hand “by accident,” nicked water bottles from opposition physios, and took cheeky digs at Jack Wilshere. He did it all.

🤕 Fitness wasn’t always on his side, but his passion and love for the badge never wavered.

Spending 8 years at Tottenham, Lamela played 257 games, scoring 37 goals and assisting 46. 🐔

💰 His departure - a swap deal plus cash for Bryan Gil, who barely made an impact before returning to Sevilla - was questionable, but his flair, audacity, and heart will always live on in our memories.

Thank you, Erik. 🩵
