Alex + Matthew 🤍

Saturday was one of those weddings that reminds you what it’s all about.

Gooseberry Beach wasn’t just a beautiful backdrop. It’s where Alex’s family has made countless memories over the years, making it the perfect place to begin this next chapter together. Every part of the day felt deeply personal, filled with so much love, laughter, and meaning.

One of my favorite moments wasn’t even a photo. Before the night was over, Josh asked Matthew’s grandmother, Nonni, if she had any advice for the newlyweds. Her answer is in the last slide, and it’s as simple as it is timeless. Some wisdom is worth listening to.

Congratulations, Alex + Matthew. Thank you for letting us be part of such a meaningful day. We can’t wait to share more from this beautiful celebration. ♥️

I love aesthetics, I have since I was a child curating strategically hung chili 🌶️ pepper lights mingling with hand written poems, Mexican lotería bingo cards, pencil sketchings, music lyrics, perfectly torn magazine edges of River Phoenix mixed with The Cure, Morrison & one massive rectangular poster Marilyn Monroe’s eyes. I’ve never conformed to one era, style or one type of music. I wore glasses to school with no lenses. I applied black eyeliner to my first ever 6th grade boyfriend Bobby. I was 12, don’t judge.

My style has refined with age - thank God. And while I absolutely with all my body & soul appreciate the classic sexiness of a neutral palette layered with texture, antiques, placement, artifacts, I rarely see that done in an authentic way.

I feel many environments have fallen victim into the beige aesthetic trap. There’s no surprises. There’s no history. It’s all prime or homegoods novelty. Like, there’s the white on off white on beige walls, don’t forget the pothos plant or (que nails on chalkboard) synthetic olive tree in the corner next to the neutral couch & one well appointed wood feature piece of curved furniture. voila… yawn. It’s safe because everyone agrees it is, it’s non-offensive, it’s basic, it’s easy to replicate, it’s fkn boring & creepy in a stepford wife way.

Nothing thrills me more than walking into something a little fun, a lot colorful & a little whimsical! Give me all the shades, shock me with a big Marlin over my bed while I’m spinning Nina in the background, making an espresso while dancing in a t-shirt my undies & socks like I was a teen again, waiting to be picked up by a boy that still gives me butterflies 🦋

When I first walked into @salvationcafebroadway #iykyk I fell in love with it, I sat at the bar I looked right into Peter’s eyes & said, “I could live here”.

@lamondsue Your Inn is like a little dream come true, a colorful casita in Newport! Thank you for being a conservator of whimsy, La Official Reina 👑 de Salvation de Colores, putting the fun in funky & keeping Newport weird! Book your stay on @airbnb just look up Sue as your Newport host.
