The spaces I lived in, the words I heard, the photos i took, sunsets I saw, and the beautiful people …
And now—are you ready to lay another brick?”

We are deeply grateful to the Mexican collective @lanadesastre for joining us twice this week, when, during our community crochet and knitting events, we could create together and learn from one another! With the finished handcrafts, we continued weaving our shared stories, while the works currently on view at the Budapest Gallery are enriched with new pieces from exhibition to exhibition.

The second time we remembered Kati Horna, the Hungarian-born photographer who fled war-torn Europe and spent most of her adult life in Mexico. The event was also attended by Rosario Asela Molinero, Ambassador of Mexico, who was given a guided tour of the exhibition by Anna Lujza Szász, curator of „No One Ever Asks What a Man’s Role in the Revolution Is”.

The exhibition is on view until 5 October on both floors of the Budapest Gallery!

Yesterday, at the community workshop held in @dajer.hu , we wove our own crocheted breasts and stories into the feminist community yarn portrait SÉ-NOS / B(r)easts by the Mexican women’s collective @lanadesastre – it was such a fantastic experience!

Many thanks to Lana Desastre and Ida Csapó for the wonderful guided tour, and to everyone who came! We were connected by so many threads – it was truly a heartwarming encounter! 💛🧶

On Thursday, we look forward to welcoming you to the Budapest Gallery to remember Kati Horna (1912–2000) – a Hungarian-born photographer who fled war-torn Europe and spent most of her adult life in Mexico. We’re creating a kind of Day of the Dead altar for Kati Horna right here in Budapest.

Let’s meet at the Budapest Gallery on 14 August, between 5:00 and 8:00 pm, to make flowers together, followed by a guided tour of the exhibition „No One Ever Asks What a Man’s Role in the Revolution Is”.
