Last month I did something really big and awesome and I’ve been so excited to share about it! I flew to the other side of the country (my first time in New York) for a creative retreat with a group of amazing women that I have had the pleasure of virtually connecting with and co-working with. Hugging them in real life made my heart so happy!

Three of us that signed up for the retreat got to lead the whole group in doing different creative activities and it was so fun. Lana gave us a watercolor painting lesson. Julia taught us how to make macramé mandalas. And I got to lead us through a Body Connection session to an amazing playlist of music that I put together.

For weeks my brain has been like - that’s no big deal Lauren. But you know what? Brains are funny like that because sometimes they convince us to minimize the cool things that we have accomplished. It's a way to stay small & safe. Don't be too big. Don't brag too much. Just stay quiet. BUT I WON’T LISTEN TO MY FEAR BRAIN & NEITHER SHOULD YOU!

I FLEW ACROSS THE COUNTRY AND I LED MY VERY FIRST IN-PERSON BODY CONNECTION RITUAL FOR A SMALL GROUP OF AMAZING CREATIVE WOMEN! IT IS A BIG DEAL!!!! The setting was perfect, outside among the trees with a little creek flowing in the background. The playlist I made for us to move to was amazing.

What is something really cool/expansive/creative that you did and then didn’t really tell anyone about? PERMISSION TO SPEAK UP AND SHARE ABOUT IT! Tell me in the comments! Send me a DM! Post about it on your page!

I can't wait to lead more Body Connection sessions - both online and in person. This is the work that my body and soul is on fire to do. I won't stop talking about it. I will keep growing and expanding.

Decorating egg ornaments yesterday with my fellow sketchers was way too much fun! We forgot to take the photo before Anne and connie left but they were here! And we missed those who couldn't make it.

Thankful all the incredible women I got to (and will get to) photograph. Their passions are an inspiration, and I find joy in creating pictures that tell their story 🤍#celebratingwomen #womenportraits #portrait #womenshistorymonth
