🔴SOLD🔴PROMPT : FARM || The first year we did Inktober I took a month long hiatus and bounced between Tampa and Miami. I had a purchased piece on me I planned to deliver to a man named Frank, while in Tampa. Frank had/has been a genuine supporter since year one… well really since my first show in Tampa. Cheering and rooting us on all along the way. When I went to Frank’s house he eventually told me about his gardening. He pointed out what he was growing where, and explained why the lime trees were positioned along the far side of the yard. The most captivating part of the conversation was when he spoke about the importance of the sun’s positioning for certain plants, and what time it would be where. He gave us limes and we were on our way. As @iamgray__ and I close this chapter of our lives I can’t help but think we’ve learned how to be farmers in an abstract way. We both possess a creative seed and chose to plant it in 2020. Not knowing much about the positioning, how much water was required, or if we’d get enough light to really sprout. I’d say both of us did. Our lime trees HAVE become fruitful. Of course there is always room for more limes. I see other creatives embracing talents they had previously buried, NOT planted. And maybe selfishly I feel like our diligence around this project just might have positively influenced the rest of our garden, our community, or little slice of the world. To be a farmer you have to be knowledgeable about what you’re growing. You have to nurture it. You have to bite the bullet when there’s an early frost no matter how carefully you followed the almanac. All I know is farming requires a lot of care and effort. I would like to think that this project has taught me that if you care enough, stay consistent, and plant seeds on the right side of the yard… something beautiful may just rise from the dirt. Phoenix. So thank you @fr.262 , and everyone else that has been rocking with us. You helped us sprout. These hands were chosen for our final Inktober piece because they are not only the position in which you receive things, but also the position in which you hold something that is both delicate and precious to you.
