BOOKISH BITES IS REAL.

Not an idea in my Notes app.
Not a vision board.
Not a “one day I want to…”
Not something I kept talking myself out of because I wanted every little detail to be perfect.

It happened. 🥹

My home was filled with books, food, laughter, conversation, beautiful energy and women who came together to celebrate storytelling around MY table.

These are just a few little behind-the-scenes moments, but whew… they mean EVERYTHING to me.

I created the kind of space I’ve been dreaming about for years — where food and literature meet, where we can laugh loudly, eat GOOD, talk books and make memories.

And this is only Chapter One. 🥂

Happy Monday and happy April friends!! here’s some weekly updates to catch you up and a lil #whatthisweek 💛💛

as you can see from my @nextchaptershop tee, I’ve been a busy busy woman lately!! lots of life changes, new adventures, and busy times with work and my personal life. reading has been keeping me sane through it all and trying to see friends as much as possible :)

as for some exciting things I’ve been up to - I MET QUEEN @tracydeonn LAST WEEK!!! I got to meet her and hear her speak at a launch event for Legendborn Collector’s Edition and Oathbound paperback with @my_lonnie which was soooo special because the Legendborn Cycle series was one of the reasons Mylon and I got close in law school 🥺 It felt so special to be in a room full of people who love Bree and Tracy as much as me and who appreciate this series!!

I also went to a super fun event for The Escape Game with @penguinteen in Philly!! I got to meet some new book besties @macksbookks @lisabythebook @lanatelreads and had the most fun afternoon at Beat the Bomb. I’ve been reading the book all weekend (it releases tomorrow) and I highly recommend if you enjoy escape rooms matched with a fun murder mystery!!

Onto this week…

📚 What I’m Reading: Finishing The Escape Game and Where the Wildflowers Grow. Then I’m planning to read Release Me (YAYYYYY) and Cleopatra!! I also am halfway through Lost and Found and OMG it’s killing me 😭😭

📺 What I’m Watching: I’ve had a cold the past few days so I rewatched Barbie which was perfection. I really want to see Forbidden Fruits!!

🎧 What I’m Listening to: I just finished my reread of Beneath with the audiobook which means…TIME TO LISTEN TO INTO THE BLUE ON AUDIO!! Queen @justjuliawhelan is narrating and I know listening on audio is gonna make me sob even harder!!

☀️ What I’m Looking Forward to: Pub week for so many of my favorite books and most anticipated reads!! I can’t wait to see everyone pick up some of my favorite books of the year (Into the Blue and Unbound). And to read Release Me!!

March was one of the best reading months I’ve had in awhile!! Two 5 star reads and other books that were very close to a 5 star which is pretty rare for me🥳 My Friends by Fredrick Beckham was a masterpiece and probably my favorite book of the year so far?! Reading The Secret Garden and then The Someday Garden back-to-back was the perfect combo! The Someday Garden was one of my most anticipated reads of the year and it did not disappoint! I then found my new obsession: The Unselected Journals of Emma. M. Lion. These books are just so much fun and the perfect read for spring💐

Ended the month with an event with Penguin Teen in Philly! So much fun making new bookish friends<3 thank you so much @penguinteen

Excited to see the flowers blooming and what April will bring. What’s your favorite read from the month?💛

join me for a bookish afternoon in Philly with @penguinteen 📚💚

I had the absolute pleasure of joining Penguin Teen over the weekend to celebrate the release of The Escape Game with an afternoon at @beatthebomb !! The Escape Game is @marissameyerauthor and @writermoss upcoming YA thriller/mystery escape room style and as a big fan of Marissa’s YA books, I am SO excited for this new release.

We spent the afternoon filming all the content and chatting with other book besties and then the real star of the show - we entered the Escape Game!! Beat the Bomb was so fun, it included a bunch of different rooms with different puzzles challenges (my favorite was the lazer room even though we failed) and then at the end were were BLASTED with a paint bomb!!

The highlight of the day was meeting some new Philly book besties: @macksbookks @lisabythebook and @lanatelreads 🤍 We made for the best team imo (plus Shannon from Penguin Teen we love you)!! It was so amazing to have a book event in Philly and meet so many lovely people :)

P.S. I’ve started reading The Escape Game and I’m already hooked - this is a HIGH STAKES escape room with a murder mystery and lots of interesting characters. I can’t wait to keep reading!!
