How do you redesign iOS for a phone that bends in half?

We asked Apple’s John Ternus about taking the risk to reimagine iOS for the new iPhone Duo. The key design breakthrough? moving core controls to the right side so key elements stay right under your thumb whether the phone is closed or open.

"It turns out to be an incredibly intuitive control system because it's there under your right thumb when it's closed. You open it up, it's there under your right thumb again."

How did Apple manage to keep the iPhone Duo under wraps despite constant tech leaks 🤫

Tom's Guide and TechRadar sat down with Greg "Joz" Joswiak and John Ternus at Apple Park, and Joz admitted they had to put "extra security" on the project, using a fake code name to throw off leakers:

"People knew through leaks that we were working on a foldable. Unfortunately, they got the aspect ratio... We said, 'Okay, we're going to really keep this one locked down,' and it worked," referring to Apple's decision to use nano-texture technology for the iPhone Duo's foldable display.
