I like to think of UFUK as a soft rebellion against how serious sports culture can get.

We carried mats across the sea and rolled beneath the trees. Friends tried jiu-jitsu for the first time. Fishermen, DJs, skaters, artists, and chefs shared a little patch of island with us.

Training matters to me. So does making room for curiosity, laughter, and people who might never think to walk into a gym.

With @rubberjiujitsu, I want to keep exploring what happens when jiu-jitsu becomes part of a wider everyday culture here in Jakarta. @powertrip.ww and Yego Triggers Me gave us a simple invitation: take jiu-jitsu outside the gym and build a cookout around it. Me, @saint.glenn, and @axelhadiningrat took that idea across the sea, still within Jakarta, to Pulau Payung. Somehow, it became mats under the trees, the fishermen collective @landbasse heading out before sunrise, friends rolling for the first time, and dinner cooked from the catch by @thetinyytable.

Somewhere between a round, a fishing trip, and cooking dinner together, we found something we’d love to keep building.

This crazy event would not have been possible without the amazing team: @chrstwilly @izzihusaini @illegalajek @sadam.jd @razidanrn @hermonferdinand @saint.glenn @axelhadiningrat @hardianism

That spirit continues with a wild collaboration with @teenage.death.star.official at @pestapora this month, and with our gym opening this November.

I hope things settle down after the eruption and everyone affected stays safe. Hopefully, we can roll outside together again soon without worrying about the air we’re breathing.

Sekarang mancing bukan lagi hobi milik bapak-bapak aja, tapi juga bisa jadi social scene baru di generasi muda.

Di tengah berkembangnya kesadaran pada kesehatan mental dan fisik, hobi ini nawarin satu hal yang beda. Escape dari rutinitas & ketenangan yang tetap dibutuhkan di tengah cepatnya gerak kota bagi anak muda.

@nakifishing_____ jadi salah satu komunitas yang mengumpulkan orang-orang dengan hobi yang sama. Bukan sekadar dapetin ikan, mereka juga memperlihatkan kalau hobi ini bisa mempengaruhi banyak aspek. Mulai dari fashion sampai lifestyle. Dari kegiatan personal sampai komunal. Yang kemudian bisa menggeser stereotype kegiatan memancing di kalangan muda.
