I’m sorry, did someone say the floors came from a Cartier boutique in Paris?

I’m looking at this house in Rancho Santa Fe, and I need to know how Martyn Lawrence Bullard even comes up with some of these ideas. The parquet floors were reclaimed from an actual Cartier boutique, there’s Cordovan-style leather on the walls, and an entire indoor spa inspired by a Moroccan hammam. The pool is surrounded by intricate blue-and-white tilework, and it looks like something you’d find tucked away in a palace in Marrakech.

Landry Design Group brought the architecture of Andalusia into the California countryside, and the Spanish and Moroccan influences are everywhere. Those arched corridors, the courtyard, the carved details, and the geometric plaster ceilings give this house so much character. That bedroom ceiling is practically a work of art. Imagine waking up to that every morning.

That dining room with the blue walls and antique lanterns? I’d be hosting dinner parties for people I barely know just to have an excuse to use it.

Most contractors take one look at a lot like this and walk.

This hillside project required caissons, steel beam shoring and shotcrete retaining walls before a single wall frame went up. Eighteen years of building on difficult ground in Southern California taught us that slopes like this don't forgive guesswork. Every foundation decision has to be right the first time.

These renderings show the design for our current phase on this hillside build. The engineering already underway on site, the caissons and shoring, is what makes the rooftop pool, glass walls and open sightlines possible later. We've learned something new on every hillside job we've taken on, and that experience is what separates a build that holds up from one that doesn't.

If you're sitting on a hillside lot and a contractor already told you no, or gave you a number that felt off, call us. We'll walk it with you and give you a straight answer, even if you never hire us. That's just how we operate in this community.
