POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

The Juvella and Hilda Shaw Family Reunion is officially in the books 🎬. We’ve been doing this since 1969. That’s over 50 years of cousins who somehow get taller every time. Stories that never get old, no matter how many times we hear them.
And reunion shirts in every color!

Our roots go back to Camp Hill, Alabama. During the Great Migration, my grandmother and some of her siblings left the South. They settled in Washington DC. New York City. Detroit. Milwaukee. All chasing better opportunities. Reunions like ours became how families stayed rooted, even when everyone was across the map. A way to make sure the next generation always knew where they came from.

Being on the planning committee was a lot of work. But keeping family ties tight takes work, and it is worth every bit of it. Watching generations in one room, laughing, eating, dancing together? That is priceless. Worth every planning call.

We do this every two years, so next up is 2028.

If you’re planning your own family trip or reunion, that’s my whole world. Find me on my travel page, @stayanchored_ace.

Festive fun with the family! We got to support our awesome cousin, @langstonluvv, in his school’s #TheNutcracker performance!

Pre-show, we had some 🥶🎄holiday fun at Bmore’s Inner Harbor.

Great job, Langston! 🎅🏾🧑🏾‍🎄 You did amazing! ❤️
